Noooo don't bang your precious head. *fringes your desk with cushions* I'm throwing out ideas too, we'll just compile the one that makes most sense at the end of the day Maybe you'll come up with better ones later.

yes! that sounds good! >_< Just don't let me or my ideas intrude on stuff that was already established, seriously! That's the last thing I want! We can scrap this whole thing if it comes to that. I didn't know you were compiling ideas too!

SUGGESTION!
Okay so someone (I think it was you Lil) mentioned recently how it's weird that our charries only have one GF when the charries in the game each have a few.
Maybe for the sequel, our charries could be granted another GF? As sort of a reward or something? Plus, if we go with the idea of Garden getting bombed and lots of SeeD's dying, that'll free up a lot of GF's for the ones still alive... and naturally Garden would distribute them to their top SeeDs first and foremost.
Just a thought!

Lex! You just inspired some cool ideas! Ok...so I've been thinking about this for awhile. What if for the sequel, we incorporated some of the more technical aspects of battles like junctioning and drawpoints? Because I realized that while our charries start off with those 3 types of magic, i discovered that afterwhile I'd be thinking, "Damn I wish I could have given Gemma "Dispel" right now" or something. Maybe in the ST posts, we could establish if draw points (or even chests!) are in a new territories and how much of each magic spell one can draw. Plus, it would be fun to see Stardust and Blaze fighting over chests! ( ) Back to GF's as Lex was saying. Definately think charries should have more than one GF and maybe they can share GF's amongst eachother! Just in general, it might be useful for ST's to set aside time for "Junctioning" every once in awhile. So that depending on the territory/atmosphere, our charries can be better equipped and they exchange/restock eachother for magic spells, restorative items, GF's... (I know that we do that sometimes but just establishing it more! ) Finally....(sorry, I'm just bursting with crazy ideas huh?) I was playing FFX again, and I was thinking of its battle system. We can set it up so that at the start of battles (im talking about the pretty major ones that the ST's tell us about) , the ST can choose three random charries to fight first. Then, after they post, its like "tag-team" style. You would choose another charrie to replace yours. So that there's always three posters. Lemme know if you like any of these ideas!

The only thing about incorporating the more technical stuff, is that it's going to detract from the "story" feel of things in a major way. I mean, I know technically it's an "RP," but one thing I have personally always loved about Trin/Wake is that it reads almost like a book. (Except you're getting the story through the eyes of several different characters instead of just one main character.) Lonnnnggg looooongggg ago, on a board far far away... haha jk it was Seiftis, I just wanted to say that XD *dork* But anyway, like right before I started Trin, I started this RP that was set in the Final Fantasy VIII world. It was totally different. It basically incorporated the kinds of things you specified just now, the technical aspects of the game. I even had this idea that people would keep track of their gil and health stats--it was almost ridiculously technical. And it flopped -_- and I think I know why it flopped: it was just plain bland. It became more tedious than fun. I'm not saying doing that stuff would make this RP totally bland or anything, but at the same time I can't imagine the climactic battles (like for instance, a confrontation with DotNA, or something) being as exciting if there are rules about how many people can be fighting at once, and such. I DO like the idea of Draw points and more magic... but not TOO much magic. The reason the magic is so limited is because if they were using the amounts of magic the characters in the game use, battles and tough situations would be way too easy to get out of. Everyone would have everything they needed basically. And I think it's funner when things are harder for them. I like us being able to put them in really crappy situations and then try to write them out of it. XD The story becomes so involving. I guess what I really don't want is for them all to become a bunch of annoying Mary Sues. hahaha if EVERYONE could heal and EVERYONE had all the supa-magic, you know that would happen. x.x Plus, I just love how everything flows right now... this is the way it has been written for four and a half years and it's still awesome! XD If it ain't broke, don't fix it, you know? Blah, anyway, this is just my two cents that I thought I would throw out, I have no intentions of dictating anything!

ahhh...I see what you mean Lex and you're probably right. It would take away from writing creativity. I just like the idea of being able to "update" our charries after a while.

Meh, there's a pretty good chance I'm NOT right XD haha I feel like a bully now... really, EVERYTHING is worth considering. Like I said, that was just my own personal lame two cents. I'm pretty sure an update of sorts on our charries is gonna happen before the sequel officially starts. That would be the most logical time to modify their inventory, anyway.

Or they can also have an update whenever there's major breaks in between the mission (we've had a few of those in the past haha). We'd announce when the time is appropriate, and any charrie who wants to swap their spells can do it (But it'll still be capped at three), same thing goes for their items.
I dunno, does that sound better?
And ooh Lex that multiple GF thing is great! But we have to cap it at two or else it'll be too confusing when internal battles are going on haha. Our charries would all be arguing with their GFs or placating them and be too preoccupied to do anything else LMAO. Or they'd just go crazy.

EEEE I love the idea of having random draw points in areas they're going to inspect in the future! Maybe someone can have their characters draw and the next poster will decide what kind of spell will be drawn, either that or fight for the draw point XD It's gonna be COOL. Like an incentive for people to post faster or something. lol It's gonna be helpful too since some of the areas might not be easy to access without certain magics.
I also like Mama G's idea of characters swapping magic and still not affecting the number of magics they can have. I mean, it's really possible that our characters can draw from other characters since that's what they do in the game afterall. But as Lex said, we gotta make it harder for our characters since we love to torture them. ^.^
And honestly, I really don't mind having one GF per SeeD. Since in FF8, there's always one GF that's most compatible with a certain character, so I like to think of it that way. Besides, I kind of like it when they only have one special GF, but that doesn't mean I'm not about to welcome the idea of having two GFs. ^.^ I'm up for it.
There! My THREE cents! XD

Ooh! Idea! For our magic junctioning system...
Okay, maybe we can stick with the three-spell limit for the character's default magic. And those three can only be updated or changed at certain intervals, like every time they return to Garden (or wherever their "home base" type place is in the sequel.)
And then one more spell is optional, provided it is acquired through Draw, either from a teammate or from a Draw Point out on the field. And if they've drawn something, and then they come across a draw point and want to draw a different spell, it has to take the place of the spell they previously drew. Soooo... they can only have the extra magic one at a time, so to speak.
This would allow sharing of magic and make Draw Points useful, without making the characters acquire TOO much magic.
Idk, thoughts... ?

Ahh cool cool Lex! One question though! Say....your charrie wants to get new magic. Do they swap with another charrie? Meaning like they'd lose that particular spell they're exchanging. Or is it more like sharing so that one charrie keeps his old magic, while the other gets the new spell as well? (only, he/she'd have to drop one of his/her spells in order to stick to the three-spell limit) Bleh, its kinda confusing the way I wrote that. Hehe...well hopefully you get the idea...

No no I got ya! ^_^
Well, I was thinking of it more as sharing... like okay, example:
Zacke draws Ultima from Jun. Jun keeps her ability to use Ultima, and Zacke gains the ability to use it as well. But if he comes across a Draw Point or wants to Draw another spell from someone else, he loses his ability to cast Ultima and whatever he draws takes its place.
So the three they choose to be their "default" spells are ALWAYS available to them, even if someone Draws some of that spell from them.
