Laice rolled her eyes and shifted her weight, sticking out one hip upon which a hand rested. "No, I'm saying a big green chocobo is going to fly out of my ass and destroy the world with its super plasma gun. YES, you are going to Esthar."
"And my time is just about up. I wish you all luck." she said starting for the door. She bumped shoulders with Blaze on the way out, pressing a slender black object, much like a small pencil, into the SeeD's hand. "Oh! I'm sorry. Oh, hey, don't loose those papers, I really don't want that kind of info about me floating about somewhere for anyone to find." She winked and shut the door behind her. Subterfuge training in the past of both women rendered the previous slight of hand nearly obvlivious to any of the rooms occupants.

"Soo, we'rre ffinally movin'? Zz bout time."
Terry stretched his shoulder and neck as he stood up from the ground.
"Couldn't get any ssleep..." Terry mummbled again.
Off to Esthar. Great that is just great...
On the outside Terry just stood there. Looking at the rest of the group he leaned back against the wall and crossed his arms. His face as stern as any of the groups.

Jun watched as Laice walked out of the room, bumping into Blaze on her way out.
Reese walked up to Blaze. "Let me see those papers."
"I don't think it's appropriate to be wasting our time examining the profile of our contact. You can do that later, on the Airship! Besides, I believe Blaze has already verified the authenticity of these papers just now, no? So I suggest we move our asses to Esthar, pronto. They're already testing the Emerald! Way ahead of us! What happens if they get the Ruby too? Time is a luxury here, you... you all should know very well!"
Jun spoke up, her gaze shifting from Reese, to everyone else around the room.
She could not miss the air of caution hanging in the room.
"Okay, it may sound like a setup, but it is also all the information we have on hand. No risk, no gain. If you're chicken about it, then stay here. I'm going."

"How do we know we can trust Blaze anymore than we can trust this Laice woman, hmm? I have just as much right as Blaze to see the papers, and I want to see them. Now." he said, in his calm tone, his patience wearing thin.
He turned to Blaze. "Mind?" he snatched the papers. "Didn't think so." he looked down at them.
"Stop being an ass.hole, hand them back to her." Zacke said. "If Blaze says Laice's good, Laice's probably good."
"Who died and made you king?" Reese sneered

Sym sighed at the rest of Reese and Blaze as they bickered, shaking her head a little and remaining ever cautious. Yes, this entire plan reeked of a trap, but if that was the way to salvage a piece of hope, she could only follow them and protect her friends along the way. Besides, Jun had a point. The Emerald had to be found and delivered into the right hands before something serious happened. Who owned these 'right hands' was beyond Sym, but so far as she could tell, she and Terry were the only ones that she could really trust about now.
"Jun is right. Even if this is the most obvious trap in the entire world, it's all we can do right now. I'd rather fight than sit on my arse and wait for another oppertunity," Sym added from the back of the room, scanning the faces around her. Maybe someone would listen to her this time.

Stardust remained silent during Laice's briefing. She didn't feel the need to ask questions seeing that the contact's information was limited. Any uncleared matter would all be answered in Esthar.
We must get that emerald before they finished their research... she thought, pressing a thumb to her lips. Just then, Laice took her leave, catching Stardust's attention, giving her profile to Blaze with a wink.
Why did she do that? Stardust watched Reese take the papers away from Blaze. From what she knew, those papers were top secret and should not be entrusted to them.
"If Blaze says Laice's good, Laice's probably good." She heard Zacke say and Reese quickly retorted.
"Enough said. I don't trust Blaze one bit," she barged in. "But we have to trust Laice. Headmistress Xu wouldn't recommend her to us if her loyalty on Garden is doubtful." Stardust eyed the papers on Reese's hands. "And she shouldn't have given her profile to us like this. It's not safe." Taking the papers away from Reese, she continued, "I'm going to hold on to this until we get back on Garden. I'll make sure it's in good hands."
She shifted her gaze at the others inside the room. They were whining about moving along. "Now. We have to get back to the airship."

Tomoe eyes flashed as Laice left, bumping into Blaze and slipping her a small black stone. It was almost oblivious--almost. Tomoe refrained from taking Blaze aside and asking questions--Blaze would tell her in good time...if she wanted to.
She glanced up. "So..." she began.
Wolfe smoothly cut in, "--are we going or what?"

Turning to Sym, Terry looked at her inquiringly. "Ummm, sso what do you ssuggest we do?" Terry implored gently. Terry smiled and knew that she made a good idea but was still confused at what her back up may be.

Reese eyed Stardust with slight irritance, glance from her face to the papers as she jabbered on about trust and whatnot. He took a deep breath.
/You can get the papers later, don't get your panties in a twist and fly off the handle.../ Perish cooed boredly.
Reese clenched his jaw and left the room, slamming the door behind him.

Zacke raised his eyebrows. "Didn't hold the door open for the ladies this time did he?" he said with a laugh, looking at the door. He sighed and turned to everyone. "Alright everyone, let's roll out." he said, then turned for the door, opened, and held it, ushering people out.

Reese left the room in a huff, slamming the door behind him.
{Well, someone's in a hurry.} Sapph commented with a laugh.
I wonder what's wrong with him... male menopause?
Jun crossed the room towards the door when she passed a seemingly zoned-out Gone, who had been unnaturally quiet during the briefing.
"Hello, are you awake yet? Briefing's over." She snapped her fingers at him, but seeing no response, sighed and turned towards the door again.
"Thanks." She nodded at Zacke, smiling slightly at the joke he had cracked earlier.
{And so we merrily skip our way to an obvious trap. Should I say you're courageous, or foolish?}
As yet, it is unconfirmed that it will be a trap.
Besides, they always say the most dangerous place is also the safest place, right?
{Suit yourself.}
Digging her hands into her pockets, she stepped into the bustling shopping district, and weaved through the teeming crowd quickly.
We'll deal with the trap when it comes, if it comes.

“Of course I’m awake. I was just thinking.” Gone grumbled. He had in fact almost drifted off into oblivion with all the waiting going on.
Gone was troubled by Reese attitude towards Laice. It wasn’t right that SeeDs didn’t trust each other. That was reason he had been so quiet. He walked towards the door, but stopped short of going out.
“Is it really a good idea to take the airship to Esthar? It’s got some pretty advanced security. Although the airship would be useful for a quick exit. Getting in and out without being detected will be tricky. I don’t suppose we have the time for anything else though.” Gone said.

Blaze listened to the briefing intently, sucking in every bit of information for later use.
"And my time is just about up. I wish you all luck." Laice ended. Blaze was surprised- she was sure Laice would of had a lot more information to share. Her thoughts were interrupted as she felt a soft bumping of her shoulder. Laice had secretly pressed some small black cylinder into her palm.
"Oh! I'm sorry. Oh, hey, don't loose those papers, I really don't want that kind of info about me floating about somewhere for anyone to find." She said cheerfully as she left the storage room.
"Take care, Laice." Blaze replied as Laice dissapeared behind the storage room's door. She smiled as she felt what Laice had given to her. Rubbing her thumb around the tip of the object, she looked down and saw that her thumb had black markings on it. Her smile suddenly hardened as she realized what she was holding. Furious, she broke the eyeliner pencil in half before she could think about it and shoved it into her pocket.
REESE
"Let me see those papers," Reese intervened, grabbing them from Blaze's grasp. Blaze was too concentrated about the eyeliner to realize that the papers had been taken from her.
"Wha-?" She snapped to attention.
"Mind? Didn't think so." Reese said, now holding the papers. Blaze's eyes turned to slits. She was about to lunge when pain flooded her mind.
/Don't attack him./ Deathstrike said, fully alert.
Why not?! That was all the proof I need, let me take him down.. now. or I will unjuction you.
/you cannot afford to unjunction me, you are too weak without my power. I know you wouldn't take the chance when he is in the same room as you./
Blaze curled her lip in defeat. Deathstrike was too good. Stardust took this as her cue to snatch the papers next."I'm going to hold on to this until we get back on Garden. I'll make sure it's in good hands." She barked. Blaze grabbed the papers back and stuck them down the back of her shirt.
"oOo. Wutcha gonna do now?" She mocked as she pulled the Laice's picture out. "oops! Check your pockets lately Stardust? Cuz I think you're missing this too!"
"Alright everyone, let's roll out." Zacke sighed, opening the door for everyone to leave.

"So what do you propose we do?" Tomoe asked, falling into step beside Blaze. "Sneaking around didn't exactly work the last time we went after a jewel."
Wolfe walked past. "Not like you need it, being a Sephirot and all," he said quietly, glancing back at her. "I bet they'll just part for you like an ocean before Leviathan."
Tomoe frowned after him as he strode off. "Thanks," she retorted darkly.
