Chapter5: Final Pitstop

[vanesse]

Vanesse’s mouth almost watered at the scent of the food she and Jaime ordered. She got her usual favorite–baked cheese macaroni. Holding on to her tray, she looked for a free table. “There’s one over there,” she said and approached it. The table was a bit too big for just the two of them. Vanesse could see Polaris on a nearby table in front of them, Blaze quickly joining her afterwards. Right past their table, she spotted Deo on the entrance, looking kind of lost, or sleepy?

“Deo!” Vanesse cupped her hands to her mouth. “We’re here!” She waved at him so he could see her. She would call in the other SeeDs to sit with them too. She believed the table was wide enough for more occupants. Standing on her seat, she looked for the others, planning to call them towards their table.

Polaris remained in her seat, finishing the last of her soup and drinking some of the hot chocolate that Blaze hadn't even touched. She had long lost the curiosity to watch the exchange between Blaze and the hacker, and was instead using her time to do other, more important things...like destroying the spam email that had somehow managed to fill up her inbox in the past 24 hours she had been out.

"Deo! We're here!" Polaris blinked, then turned her head. Vanesse and Jaime were at a table to her immediate right. Vanesse was standing on her seat, her hands cupped around her mouth. She was calling others.

"Here's your...uh...three orders of curly fries."

"Thank you!" Sho said, beaming gratefully, grabbing his tray. Various foods were crowded upon it: the three orders of curly fries he had just recieved; two, tall glasses of orange juice; a plate of hot, steaming pork buns; and his dessert, a freshly-made strawberry-raspberry smoothie. He turned around to head to the tables and was met with the sight of...Hadrian, snatching a poor dead fish from Blaze and putting it in his pocket.

< OH, SICKKK!!! > Sho made a face.

"Deo! We're here!" Sho turned his eyes away from the disgusting sight and saw Pixie standing on a chair, yelling at her friend. She and Jaime were sitting at a rather large table, much too large for just the three of them, so Sho made his way over to them.

"Aa, mind if I sit with you pretty girls?" he asked, beaming.

Deo was looking around the cafeteria with mild interest. All of the chatter and bustle didn't seem to affect him.

<wow, this place is huge> He thought, looking up at the ceiling, <Must be about 25 feet high.>

"Deo! We're here!" he heard Vanesse call out. Deo looked up and walked over towards their table at a slow pace.

"Where are we gonna sleep?" he asked them once he got there. It was no surprise that sleeping was on his mind as usual.

[Stella]

I am so obsessed with clothes, lol. I posted a pic of what Stella is wearing right now in her thread .

Her stomach betrayed her. It grumbled loudly as she padded down the hallway of the Garden toward the cafeteria. Stella had thrown on her casual clothes to move around at home. A cute red top a pair of black Capri pants and strappy sandals. Her freshly washed hair flowed around her, at times annoying her greatly.

I'll just get something to go. In and out.

As she neared the cafeteria she could smell the food immediately and her stomach growled again. With a sigh Stella stepped in and join the cafeteria line. Glancing around quickly she spotted a few of the other SeeD.

It was impossible for her to blend in with the other students, but she tried to anyway.

Jun couldn't stop smirking. The picture was just too priceless for words. Blaze was actually talking a guy without having to be restrained. Although Jun didn't profess to know Blaze very well but surely this was something out of ordinary? The fact that a dead fish was travelling to and fro their hands made it even more surreal. There was probably something about Hadrian that was different.

If anything it just proves that Blaze can have a perfectly normal conversation with a guy, she's not always the 'man-hater' stereotype people paste her with.

{You call dead-fish tossing normal?} Sapphy's snort was excessively loud.

Jun ignored Sapphy's remark, convinced that she was right. She looked around for a table to sit at, spotting the Opps and Sho at a large table and walked towards it.

"Yo guys. Can I join too?"

{It's "May I join too", not "Can I join too"...}

Stuff it up Sapphy!

"Where are we gonna sleep?" Deo asked.

"If you guys don't mind squeezing a bit, you could crash at my place." She offered warmly, sounding weird even to herself.

If the circumstances had been a little different, she wouldn't be nearly so "kind" to them. Was it guilt for not being able to help them rescue their teammates? Or simply a friendly face for them in a midst of dozen other indifferent ones? Whatever it was, if Opps was going to be part of their mission, she had the obligation to make them feel at home.

"Just don't do any sword-throwing is all I ask." She grinned cheekily.

The very second Rayden stepped into the Cafeteria, there was a rush towards the cafeteria line by some of the frequent patrons there. The reason simply being that they knew anyone who queued behind him would probably not get any food at all. Rayden was notorious for wiping out the cafeteria's reserves with the bottomless pit he called his stomach.

With an amused shake on his head, he strolled languidly towards the end of the line, deciding to be extra generous today by letting more people join the line before him. And lo and behold, there was one of the gorgeous SeeDs that had joined their team today. He took quicker strides towards her, only to hear disappointed groans and various curses behind him as he stepped into the queue.

"Hey, Stella." Rayden greeted her with an appreciative tone. "You smell nicer than the food here, and that's saying something."

[Stella]

Stella turned around at the mention of her name. She smiled at him blushing a little. It was the guy that had been half naked earlier, prancing around like a show boy. Some people just had no shame. But she couldn't deny that he had looked good.

"Oh hey, hi.. yeah thanks" she said thrown a little off guard. It would have been rude to just turn back around so she positioned herself in an inviting angle.

oh by Hyne what was his name again?..

She struggled to remember if he had even introduced himself before. Stella had always been bad with names. Especially in the presence of hot guys.

Oh god listen to your self Stella. Just be nice, he's on your team remember?

"How are you?" she asked lamely not sure what else to say.

Well at least you know he wont be dazzled by your scintillating conversation

"Aa, you're having ALL OF THEM in your dorm?!" Sho set down his tray a little too quickly, nearly knocking over one of the glasses of orange juice. He had an expression of disapproval on his face. "No way, it's not proper for a lady to have a man in her room. People talk!" He shot a frown towards Deo. "I can't agree with that." He pointed to the bomber. "Aa, you, you're not rooming with Jun. I have a rollout bed in my room, you're staying there."

He took a breath, his paternal instincts in full throttle. "And I want you to promise you won't go over and visit Pixie and Jaime. I don't want gossip being thrown around about that, okay?" He glared at Deo for a good minute before continuing, "And I think it'd be good if only Jaime or Pixie roomed with Jun. I don't want things to be too crowded or anything; I'm sure someone else won't mind sharing with one of you," he told Van and Jaime. "But it has to be a girl. Aa, how about Polaris over there?! I'm sure she wouldn't mind having a guest for the night!"

Then he blinked, looking around at the bewildered Opps and Jun. "Aa..." He bowed, nearly knocking his head into his smoothie. "Excuse me for my outburst!"

[Polaris Lyn]

"Aa, how about Polaris over there?! I'm sure she wouldn't mind having a guest for the night!"

Polaris blinked (she seemed to be doing that quite a lot lately), and stared at Sho as he looked round and suddenly bowed, shouting an apology.

< W, what the heck is going on...? >

[Jun]

Jun stared at Sho, a little taken aback at his outburst.

"Ah, you're right Sho. I didn't think about spreading them out." She creased her forehead a little, turning to the Opps. "Cos I thought they would've preferred to stick together. Sorry for being so presumptious." She bowed her head a little towards the Opps. "In any case, just tell us what kind of arrangements you'd like, we'll be happy to oblige."

[Rayden]

Rayden's grin widened when he caught sight of the subtle blush adorning Stella's cheeks. He didn't think it was possible but her beauty was all the more enhanced.

{Get a hold of yourself Raydie. You might scare her off.} Ariadnialla warned in a half-serious tone.

I am merely appreciating a flower blooming in the midst of savagery... He cast his eye on the hungry glints in many of those in line, fidgeting for their turn. Surely there's nothing wrong with that.

{...sometimes, you make me shudder in the worst possible ways.}

"How are you?" Stella asked, to which he raised an eyebrow in surprise, but recovered quickly.

"Oh, most well indeed. How can I not, in such captivating company." A requisite wink here. " Well, I don't believe I've introduced myself properly yet, for which I do apologise. Rayden Sharpola." He put on his most charming smile. "Always at your service."

[Stella]

"The pleasure is all mine, Rayden" Stella said coolly, eying him up and down but not too obviously.

Oh he is a suave one this Rayden, he's probably said the same thing to every girl on the team.

"Always at my service?" Stella smirked a little, a playful tone rising in her voice, "does that mean you'll clean the toilet in my bathroom if I ask?"

[vanesse]

LOL XD OoOoOooo so it's Sho and Deo now?? *Brokeback mountain theme starts playing again*

Vanesse blinked at Sho's goofiness before erupting into a laugh. It was nice of him to offer his room for Deo to sleep in. That was going to be interesting--to share a room with Deo. She looked towards Polaris and Blaze and shyness got the better of her. She didn't want to bother Polaris that much, especially if she didn't invite them personally--same went for Blaze.

"Nah," she said meekly, shaking her head. "It's prolly better if we don't bother her."

"In any case, just tell us what kind of arrangements you'd like, we'll be happy to oblige." Jun proposed, and Vanesse felt more welcome.

"Gee, you guys are too kind," she replied. "I don't mind squeezing in Jun's room if it's all right with her." She took a sip from her soda.

Swallowing, Vanesse looked at Sho, a grin forming on her face. "Sho, goodluck." Noone had ever shared a room with Deo and lived to tell about it. Come to think of it, noone had ever shared a room with Deo before--not that she know of atleast.

"Pasta anyone?"

[Hadrian D'arcell]

At long last, Hadrian finally managed to get his order from the counter--a fish burger, fries, soda, and his footlong sandwhich. Staring at his tray, he never felt so hungry. He walked away from counter to look for Jun and the others. When he passed at end of the line, the sight of Rayden and Stella was unmistakable. Hadrian grinned and approached them.

"Yo lovebirds," he greeted, amused. "Rayden, sweet talking chicks again to beat her to the food counter?" Hadrian lied. He looked at Rayden, his grin unfading. "Tsk tsk...shame on you, bro." Of course, he had no idea if that were true, but getting their reaction was priceless though. "Oh...shame," he drawled, shaking his head exaggeratedly.

The hacker continued walking, spotting the rest of the SeeDs on a table near Blaze and Polaris. "Your fish burger, fries, and soda, miss," Hadrian placed the tray on the group's table, and pushed them closer to Jun. "Thanks again," he said, and looked around the table for a while. Seemed like the Opps, Sho, and Jun were all getting along fine. Right, it was time for him to run back to his dorm and do...stuff.

"Aight, time for bed for me." Hadrian grabbed the footlong sandwich. "G'night fellaz. Nice meeting you." He nodded at them and walked towards the entrance.
