Okay, the pic you found was entirely too cute. And Reese needs a change anyway, now that he's like... received salvation from his dark past, and junk like that. XD So I decided that he did indeed get a haircut ^_^
Let's say Garden had to snip off some of that hair to make it easier to tend to his pretty little head-wounds or something... idk hahahaha I don't really care how it fits into the story.
