Notes; May or may not have platonic/romantic couplings of Wake characters.

1. Ring
She wasn't allowed to wear her ring on her last mission, so Sho kept it for her return-- and he keeps it for her still.
2. Hero
Weiss wonders sometimes why the little Sephirot girl continues trying to be a so-called hero-- there was nothing to be gained except a quick death... but he admired her for it.
3. Memory
Memory was the greatest thing Jun Kuroki could have, and it was the one thing she was lacking.
4. Box
She kept all her art supplies in a box-- kept it safe and away from prying eyes, because her art was her life.
5. Run
No one really expected much from Deo, but when he saw Waverly's gun trained on Jaime, he took off towards her like Bahamut itself was after his ass.
6. Hurricane
Sho was unexpected, unstoppable, unpredictable and wild-- he was a hurricane with two feet, dangerous and yet beautiful.
7. Wings
Sometimes Jax wondered what it would be like to grow wings and fly outside the confines of a ship.
8. Cold
Hadrian wondered how the hell Polaris could stand being out in the freezing rain-- but she was an odd woman, and understanding her was like trying to understand the meaning of life; it was impossible.
9. Red
Sometimes, when no one was looking, Blaze would unsheath he claws and make three thin lines on her arm, to see the blood well up in the shallow cuts-- and the bright red would remind her that her heart was still beating, and that she still a life to live.
10. Drink
Deo was impressed as Stardust tilted back the sixth shot of tequila; he never thought he would find a woman who could match him drink for drink.
11. Midnight
Jaime liked staying up til midnight, because whenever the clock struck twelve, she knew she had lived through another day, and she was thankful.
12. Temptation
It was tempting, to just take out her claws and kill them all, but Blaze thought to herself that Polaris wouldn't take kindly to having to clean up the bodies of the team members when Blaze was done with them.
13. View
"The view's fantastic," Rayden said as Jaime sat herself down beside him; she scowled and slapped him, but Rayden simply grinned.
14. Music
Weiss knew he was truly disturbed when he saw the hate in the Sephirot girl's eyes-- and found that her voice, full of hatred, was music to his ears.
15. Silk
For a man who fought with his fists, Sho had amazing hands, Vanesse thought dreamily, as the martial artist massaged the tension from her shoulders in a caress soft as silk.
16. Cover
Hadrian's eyes widened when Polaris pulled her hair up in a ponytail and he saw the scars on her back-- it was as if he was seeing how human she truly was for the first time, without the cover of her sarcasm distracting him from reality.
17. Promise
Sho never took off his wedding ring-- it was a promise of better or worse that he planned to keep til death.
18. Dream
Hadrian had forgotten what it was like to dream; now his thoughts revolved only around artificial intelligences.
19. Candle
Jax realized just how different Jun Kuroki was when he walked into her dorm room and smelled the faint lavender scent of her candles.
20. Talent
"Deo has a talent for sleeping," Jaime told Jun once-- "he's slept through a battle between GFs before."
21. Silence
Stardust scowled and Polaris and Polaris stared back expressionlessly-- the heavy silence between them spoke volumes about their hatred towards each other.
22. Journey
He was tired, so tired, of fighting all the time, and he just wanted to rest, to take a break from the journey to peace.
23. Fire
The fire licked her arm and left the flesh red, but Stardust barely flinched-- the weak Fire spell was nothing compared to the Flare Magic Adel had used to destroy her hometown.
24. Strength
And Reaver thought that she was weak, but Polaris proved him wrong when she summoned Obsidian on his Adel-following ass.
25. Mask
What nobody knew was that his smile was a mask, and he was sick and tired of their fighting, and half-thinking he wanted to Tornado them just to stop them from yelling at each other.
26. Ice
Blaze suddenly just realized how fitting Polaris' new name was-- like the star, her best friend had become distant and covered by icy darkness.
27. Fall
She never expected anyone to help her when she fell, which was why Stardust was so surprised to wake up in Deo's arms.
28. Forgotten
"You guys are gone," Vanesse whispered to the fallen Opps members, "but you sure as hell aren't forgotten-- I swear it."
29. Dance
Sometimes, when Polaris closed her eyes, she could remember dancing with someone she cared about very much... except she could never remember his face.
30. Body
Sho knew exactly where to hit a body-- if he wanted to, he could kill Stardust with a punch to the throat.
31. Sacred
There were some sacred things people could NOT just make fun of, and Rayden's knife and fork were two of them.
32. Farewells
Faulkin watched her back moving steadily away from him, and he knew she had said her goodbyes without a single word.
33. World
Sometimes, Jax got REALLY tired of playing the good guy all the time; there were just times he wanted the world to blow up already, so at least he could take a break from getting shot at or stabbed or maimed.
34. Formal
Weddings were supposed to be formal occassions, but Sho couldn't help but let out a wolf-whistle when he laid eyes on his wife-to-be.
35. Fever
Vanesse woke up to a soft voice singing, and through her feverish brain she thought she saw Sho standing over her, a worried look on his face.
36. Laugh
Making Polaris laugh was like challenging a Ruby Dragon without weapons: Blaze was probably the only one who could ever dream of doing it and succeeding.
37. Lies
There was no such thing as a lie, Stardust realized, because if anyone tried enough, they could prove anything true.
38. Forever
She wasn't a good person, but maybe if she got to cut off Adel's head, she'd be remembered forever.
39. Overwhelmed
Gemma wasn't sure if she could take being in such a troublesome team-- it was bad enough that the women fought like cats and dogs, but the men?
40. Whisper
"All you have to do to wake Deo up," Vanesse explained to Jun, "is to whisper the word pancakes."
41. Wait
Jun sighed as Blaze and Sho exploded into an argument again-- maybe if she waited long enough, Polaris would get really pissed and just cut their heads off with her axe.

"You talk too much," Polaris told Weiss-- "it's killing my brain."
43. Search
Jax was proud he had helped in the search for the three gems that would reawaken the Trinity sword... now if only it hadn't gotten stolen from them so damned easily!
44. Hope
Vanesse was always optimistic; it annoyed Polaris that the girl was always so full of hope.
45. Eclipse
Jax thought that Stardust Infinity was like an eclipse: dangerous to look at directly, but rare enough to catch the eye.
46. Gravity
Jax decided that he disliked gravity the minute the airship's engines failed and they began to plummet into the sea.
47. Highway
Riding his motorcycle on the highway always gave Sho a thrill; he loved feeling the wind whip by him as he defied common sense and roared along at impossible speeds.
48. Unknown
Hadrian was used to knowing information about a person, and someone so unknown as Polaris Lyn scared him a little.
49. Lock
Stella heard the closet door lock and she promptly stopped thinking; she pounded the door and screamed and screamed and screamed, while her captors laughed.

"You're a SeeD now," Blaze told Vanesse-- "to kill is to breathe."
