So I watched “300” and felt like violence, and then had a fic idea about Stardust VS Waverly VS Polaris that would not leave me alone unless I wrote it out. That is my excuse; this is clearly not in the RP. I guess you can consider it a “WHAT MAY BE” sort of fight? IDK. I just feel like maybe Waverly would be badass if she REALLY REALLY wanted to be. Maybe. Not entirely sure.
It starts with a standoff—Waverly’s gun is trained on Stardust’s eye and Ciceronian is ready to fire an arrow straight into where Waverly’s heart would be…if, Stardust thinks sardonically, the bitch had a heart in the first place. It’s bloodlust and anger and vengeance and madness all wrapped up into one; Stardust’s violet eyes narrow with vengeance and hurt and pain and vindicated revenge, and Waverly’s eyes are dark and shadowed and gleaming with the same insanity her own dear brother demonstrates as he unleashes Bahamut on the SeeDs again and again. Perhaps the others need Stardust’s help. Stardust finds herself uncaring. Waverly was here, Waverly was right in front of her, and no one was allowed to distract her from her kill.
Except someone does—the whistle of a blade cuts through the air and Waverly spins away, Stardust forced back a step when Polaris steps into the fight—and fury engulfs her like a flame. “NOT NOW, BITCH!” Stardust screams, and Waverly laughs maniacally, aims her gun and fires—
—Stardust throws herself out of the way, rolls into a crouch and readies Ciceronian, and Polaris is attacking first, a head-on collision as Waverly keeps firing, torn between killing Stardust and killing Polaris and Stardust takes her chance, now, while she’s distracted—!
Polaris jumps, axe ready for a decapitating swing as Stardust fires—the arrow flies, swift and true and aimed at Waverly’s perfectly-made up face, all crimson lips and lies, dark eyes lined with kohl and alight with malice, and Waverly screams her fury when she is forced to duck the arrow and Polaris’ blade cuts through air; Waverly tries to shoot out Polaris’ feet from underneath her but Polaris dives out of the way and it’s Stardust turn as she smoothly rises from her crouch and fires arrow after arrow, forcing Waverly back.
“She’s mine!” Stardust snaps, not bothering to turn her head. Polaris is there, she knows—Polaris can’t take this away from her, nobody should take Waverly away from her.
“Eat it!” Waverly screams, and Stardust staggers under the strength of the Pain magic, the torture forcing a scream from her mouth and she curses herself for being weak like this, her body screaming under the agony of the magic and the accompanied Silence preventing her from Summoning Diwata. She dimly hears a gunshot and the world bursts into brilliant red light when she feels her neck explode, her choker shattering, and she collapses, dying.
Waverly lets out a triumphant shriek that fades into agony when a body barrels into her; her gun falls to the floor with a clatter and Polaris swings a fist straight into her jaw and bone shatters. Waverly’s fingers close around a fistful of hair and Polaris grunts in pain, rolling off and kicking Waverly’s side to make her let go. Waverly scrambles for her gun and Polaris shouts her anger as she grabs her axe and swings—the blade bites into the gun with a crunch and Waverly rolls out of the way, unable to speak because of a broken jaw. Polaris runs to Stardust’s side and places a palm over the gaping wound that used to be Stardust’s neck—REGEN!! she screams in her head, forcing the magic through…
…and Stardust’s body spasms when the spell binds skin together with a speed unrivaled by a non-Sorceress, through sheer will and need, bringing her from the brink of death—
—and Polaris pulls her out of the way as a waraxe split’s the ground where she was lying on; Waverly yanked the axe from the floor and held it low, staring at them with murder in her eyes.
“MOVE!” Polaris screams, and Stardust doesn’t need the shove; she and Polaris dive in opposite directions as Waverly brings Polaris’ axe down upon them, Polaris ending in a crouch and Stardust already recovered and running at Waverly, a running leap and a tackle and takes Waverly’s hands off a weapon and it’s a no-holds-barred brawl now, Stardust’s fists smashing into Waverly as Stardust poured all her anger into the fight.
Waverly pushes at Stardust, and when that doesn’t work a crack of Thunder magic blows Stardust ten feet away, and Waverly staggers to her feet, face bruised and ugly and nothing like she used to be. She touches the blood pouring from one closed eye and her scream is terrifying, magic crackling at her fingertips as she casts Thundaga again and again, laughing over Stardust’s moans of agony, and when she senses Polaris’ footsteps she sends the other girl flying with a Firaga blast.
Stardust avoids the last Thundaga blast and manages to get to her knees, eyes half-blinded by blood pouring from a head wound and clothes burning away, muscles spasming from the electric shocks. Waverly makes her way towards her, carrying a ball of Thundaga in a perfectly-manicured hand, and Stardust doesn’t give her enemy the pleasure of seeing her pain. Ciceronian is broken, she knows, shot to pieces by this bitch who had no conscience, but Waverly would never see her cry—
—Waverly moves, ready to shove the ball of Thunder magic straight into Stardust’s chest, to stop her heart and burn it to cinders, and Stardust doesn’t hear her own primal scream, I WILL NOT LET YOU KILL ME, and Ciceronian, shattered to powder into her throat, burns its magic into her blood and the arrow that materializes into her hand is as violet as her eyes, sparking in fury, and it is amethyst fire as she pushes the arrowhead into Waverly’s throat, “YOU WILL NOT KILL ME!” Stardust screams, and Waverly cannot scream back—
—and her enemy’s body shudders as the Thundaga ball flickers into nothing, and when Waverly drops to the ground, Stardust sees the gleam of a silver blade protruding from her back. She raises violet eyes to meet Polaris’ dark amber.
“You had no right,” Stardust breathes, and Polaris doesn’t reply immediately, only pulling her weapon from Waverly’s bleeding body.
“I had every right,” Polaris says, grabbing Stardust’s hand unceremoniously and hauling the archer to her feet. “And so did you.”
Stardust glares, but says nothing. She’s found her revenge, her arrow pierced Waverly’s throat first, and if she expected the burden on her shoulders to lighten, it did not. She pulls her hand away from the other girl’s grip just in time to hear a draconic shriek.
Bahamut is coming for them.
There is so much lame in this fic that I am beside myself. ):
