The two halves of the chosen 'best of the best' finally came face to face with each other once again. Or however 'face to face' they could get with a squadron of trigger-happy Estharian soldiers between them.

Reese...
Stardust's heart was racing. Her shaky eyes trailed onto Reese's face as he huffed and scanned her for any gunshots.
"It's okay. I'm fine," she said and faintly added, "Thank you...Ree--" Stardust was cut off by another loud raucous right behind the fountain that they were in. She turned back to see the other batch of soldiers casting Meteor spells over them, blending with the bullets that were constantly showering them.
"This just keep getting worse and worse..!" she said through clenched teeth and eyed the others. They all found something that they could hide for cover but their predicament was still at high. They couldn't go anywhere at all. They were cornered!
Amidst all of their expectations, Stardust saw a glint of fire torch a quarter of the soldiers that was heedlessly raining them with bullets. She blinked as some of them fall down one by one.
DEATH spells... she thought, her forehead creasing. That was when she saw a group of familiar faces bust through the soldiers' blind spot and started taking the soldiers head on. It didn't take long for her to realize that it was them: Zacke, Blaze, Tomoe, Wolfe, Gaiea, Rika, Kyoui, Colum, Sym, and some other she didn't know.
"Those guys." Stardust swallowed. She hoisted herself up as the bullets subsided. There were still some soldiers standing but she knew that wouldn't be a problem now.
"Let's get out of here..." she said to Reese and brought Ciceronian to her side, ignoring her throbbing shoulder. It was about time.

The chaos of the laboratory lobby caught Zacke by surprise. Soldiers were everywhere, bullets flying, swords clashing, spells going off everywhere.
Zacke shouted Death over and over, casting it as rapidly as possible on as many soldiers he could. However, the spell didn't always kill.
Heh, guess they didn't quite make their grand escape...now look who's saving their asses. Look how wonderful Reese's plan seems now.
/Well at least this group made it into the place./ Iris replied dryly.

/She's not dying Reese, help your team!!/ Perish screeched.
Reese started to stand, but Stardust spoke again. Don't thank me. he thought. He glanced around for Jun and Gone. He wanted to scream in frustration. Stardust seemed to share his anger in the matter.
Suddenly the door swung open and more people came though. The other half. Just the right timing. Reese thought.
"Let's get out of here," Stardust said urgently and grabbed Ciceronian. Reese drew Consequence and nodded. He seemed to hesitate for a few seconds. Suddenly he bent over and grabbed Stardust's wrist, then pulled her up.
"C'mon." he stated, his grip tight on her wrist as he sprinted into the fray of the battle, towards the door, tugging her along.

Jun let out a gasp as she witnessed Stardust toppling to the ground, hitting her shoulder hard on the tiled floor. It had to hurt, she knew this much. Before she could step forward to help her up, Reese had beaten her to it and swooped Stardust to safety near a fountain thing.
Smooooooth... She thought, while attempting to follow them from her current position towards the fountain, or somewhere near it.
They were so close to the door. She could see it not far off from the fountain. The sweetness of escape almost within reach...
...when she was cut off mid-dash by a Meteor spell aimed at her.
She quickly ducked behind a pillar, mercifully in time to avoid getting fried by the Meteor and the unbroken spray of bullets let loose by yet another horde of Estharian pigs, as she had come to christen them.
My dear Lord... there's more of them than I care to count! She despaired, although it did not show up on her stony face. Attempting to tip the scales more in their favour, she blasted a few more Ultima spells at various direction, killing off quite a fair number of the soldiers.
But no matter how many of the enemy fell, more reinforcements came to replace the fallen ones.
The feeling that they were fighting a losing battle loomed up too dangerously close for her comfort. They were cornered, yet again.
A bullet zinged past her left arm. She glanced down slightly when a stinging pain hit it. Her head remained bowed, seemingly too heavy for her to lift.
The door slammed open.
She looked towards it, fearful that another batch of soldiers would burst through it.
When she saw the people coming through, she wanted to weep. They were familiar faces. Faces she had never been so glad to see, something that she would never admit openly.
It's them!
{Yes yes save the celebratory dances for later. Incoming at six and nine o'clock!}
Heeding the GF's warning, she side-stepped to the right and bent down just in time to dodge the attacks of two soldiers who had decided to corner her, their blades clashing with each other when they failed to meet their target. She swiped Tien Nu across their guts, permanently erasing any threat from them.
Across the room, Zacke was casting Death spell after Death spell at the enemies.
It opened a path for them to escape. She wasted no time in seizing the chance, sprinting towards the door as fast as her legs could carry.
As she neared Gone, she saw that he was up against two soldiers. She cheerfully hacked off the head of one of them, while Gone finished off the other with his weapon.
She winked at him when he turned to face her.
"No time to waste. Let's go!"

Gone grinned as he looked up to see Zacke and the others burst in. “Finally decided join the party, eh?” Gone shouted as he lopped off an Estharians head. “Don’t worry we’re just getting started! There’s going to be door prizes and everything!”
Gone slit one Estharian across the stomach, reached in and pulled out a handful of intestines before winking at the man and then kicking him over so his guts spilt out. He turned and saw that there were only two Estharians left in the group he was facing. Make that one, he thought as Jun cheerfully loped the head off one. Gone drove one end of his halberd into the other soldiers head, before turning to Jun.
”No time to waste. Let's go!" She winked.
“A girl after my own heart.” He said grinning like a lark.
Gone glanced quickly about to see where his other teammates were before turning to meet a few more attackers. They really were cleaning this up nicely. After all a good fight’s a good fight.

Blaze and the others rushed in after Nirkit's GF had distracted the crowd. She stared, wide-eyed at the commotion. Countless amounts of dead estharian soldiers littered the ground, many missing more than one body part. Blaze was angry, furious that all this killing had gone on without her.
“Finally decided join the party, eh?" Gone shouted at the arriving team, lobbing off a head as he said so.Blaze seethed jealousy and picked up a fallen sword, throwing it straight through the head that Gone had chopped off. She then scrambled madly for every single estharian sword that lay on the floor.
”No time to waste. Let's go!" Jun yelled amidst the clashing of weapons.
"NO!!!" Blaze screamed and began to chuck the swords at all of the soldiers, barely missing many of her own teammates. The swords cut straight through parts where Blaze had aimed for- their eyes their groins, their mouths. Hearing their cries of agony was music to her ears.
"There's still a bunch, I can stay here all day!" Blaze protested as the others began for an exit.

Alaxia turned to see two Estharians soldiers coming at her. She fired her guns quickly before they could get any closer.
/WATCH YOUR BACK!/
Alaxia turned as she heard her Gf yelled. "Ahhh!" Alaxia moaned slightly as a sharp pain hit her right arm. She hurriedly moved before the soldier could strike again. Firing her gun, the soldier's body fell to the ground.

Stardust stared at her wrist as she tagged along with Reese towards the bunch of Estharians blocking the exit.
A lame attack coming from a desperate Estharian soldier made her break free from Reese's grasp and shoot the soldier down right on his throat, making his blood spurt out of his neck and some from his mouth. Time to bust their way out of here. Almost all of the SeeDs were having fun dismembering the unfortunate soldiers.
/Hyne, Stardust..Keep it clean./ Diwata mumbled, disgusted by the blood bath. But she was keeping it clean. Considering the sight of maniac Blaze at the far corner. Yes, she was keeping it clean.
Aiming for the soldiers that was standing in their way, she shot them all off on their throats. It would just block their airway and send blood gushing out of their pathetic mouths. Another simple way to kill someone nice and slow.

"There's still a bunch, I can stay here all day!" Blaze said, a whine tingeing her voice as the others began their retreat. She did not notice the Estharian soldier that had crept to her side, his shotaxe raised.
The soldier's weapon never came down. There was a sickening crack as fist hit jaw and then there was the sound of shattering bone. The soldier went flying and Wolfe withdrew his fist, flexing his fingers.
Damned Estharian helmets.......bruising my knuckles like that.
/Only you would worry about your knuckles, Sheridan./
Wolfe grinned at the remark, but mirth was cut short when he had to dodge a crazy solider with a sword. As the man stumbled forward, Wolfe brought up his knee to meet the soldier's face, and effectively breaking his nose. There was a muffled, nasal cry of pain and Wolfe quickly dropped the man with a spinning kick that snapped his neck.
Huh. Sanaku's right......violence is pretty fun!

As her blade sank into a soldier's abdomen, a thought suddenly struck Tomoe. I wonder if this man is someone I know.....
"Die!"
Tomoe spun, her sword angled for an upward slash, effectively cleaving the man in two. She glanced up, surveying the room, noting with an odd sort of detachment that Blaze and Wolfe were having a little killing party, and also noticing that the group was retreating. The soldiers weren't quite ready to let them leave, though.
There was a sudden shout behind her, and Tomoe turned towards the sound, raising her sword.

Alaxzander watched most of his team mates run towards the nearest exit. God, look at them run like little wimps. He turned and firer two more rounds when he felt a quick pain in his back. he turned to see a scientist on the ground with a gun trying to defend him self. He just shot me. Alaxzander lifted his gun and firer two shots into the scientist head. And then rased his head to looked at Tomoe.

Tomoe met Alaxzander Ske's gaze and she blinked, quickly looking away. Her guard dropped for a moment and a soldier took advantage, running at her with his blade. Tomoe caught the move out of the corner of her eye and she moved to dodge the attack, although the point of the sword managed to cut a shallow gash down her left arm. She quickly shifted her grip on her sword and beheaded the soldier, then joined the rest of the team. The jewel they were looking for was nowhere in sight--there was no reason to stay.
"So do we go or what?!" she asked over the sounds of battle.

"So do we go now or what?!" Tomoe shouted. Zacke spun, cracking one end of Dizzy over a soldiers head. From the corner of his eye he caught Stardust's bright hair somewhere near the door, and another darker form with her.
"Retreat!!" Zacke struggled to be heard above the noise of the battle--swords clanging, gunshots ringing, cries of pain. He cast Death on the closest soldier and turned immediately, making his way for the door.

Reese stumbled through the door. He could hear Stardust close behind. He halted abruptly, his heart racing.
At least a dozen Estharian police vehicles littered the street. Guns clicked. Three ambulances were parked on the edge of the mass of cars. Perimedics were loading officers injured by Nirkit's GF into the backs of the trucks.
"DROP YOUR WEAPONS!!!" a mans voice boomed from a megaphone. They were completely surrounded. There had to be at least a hundred men present. Reese exchanged looks with Stardust briefly.
Consequence clattered to the ground. Reese brought up his hands.

Stardust suddenly came to a halt as soon as they made it through the door. The sheer amount of police waiting for them outside the compound startled her.
"DROP YOUR WEAPONS!!!" warned the Estharian police as dozens of gunclicks were heard.
Stardust took a step closer to Reese and eyed him. She hoped that he had something in mind but quickly doubted it as reality hit her. He glanced back and threw his gunblade on the ground surrendering. Stardust turned to the Estharian police and hesitated.
"I REPEAT! DROP YOUR WEAPONS!!!"
Her jaw tightened and glared at the soldiers as she brought a hand over her choker and threw it to the ground. In an instant, Ciceronian dissolved from her grip. Slowly, she raised her hands to her head. She could hear the other SeeDs approaching them from the door.
Don't come out...she thought. Hoping that they had heard the Estharian police from the inside.

Wolfe practically skidded to a stop as he saw the wall of Estharian policemen surrounding Zacke, Stardust and Reese. "Holy--!" he began, holding out an arm to stop Tomoe, who was following.
".....Oh. My," was the woman's remark as she surveyed the officers.
"You can say that again....." Wolfe muttered.
/I need to stretch! May I pretty pleeeeeeaaaase come out?/ Obsidian whined in the back of Tomoe's mind. /My pooooor wings.....they're all cramped!!!/
This is not the right time, Siddy.....
/It's the perfect time!!! What're you smoking?! You're surrounded by policemen and you wanna surrender?!?!?! Are you CRACKED?!?!/
Tomoe tensed, shooting Zacke a sharp glance. .....I.....guess.
/But you just hafta let me out--wait, you said yes?!/

Obsidian's presence grew stronger, and suddenly he appeared, unfurling black, feathered wings. He opened bloodred eyes, fangs gleaming as his lips stretched into a smile. And then he gathered his Gravity magic.

Alaxia ran out, grabbing her bleeding arm, just in time to see a dark angel appear from behind the dark-haired Tomoe Sephirot, gathering black magic. "...Whoa," Alaxia breathed, green eyes wide.
/....Well, he looks like a charming man!/ Lamara said, her voice full with approval.
......Only you, Lamara, would say that about a Guardian Force ready to kill an entire army of police officers.
/welll i don't hear any complaining!/ Lamara shot back.
Alaxia turned back to look at her brother, who was holding his shoulder. The wound was bleeding freely. "Alaxzander?!"
"I'm fine," her brother replied. "It's just--" He stopped and stared up at the summoned GF. "What the f*cking hell is that?!"
/Well, it kinda looks like a GF!/ Dargon noted.
....Yes, thank you for pointing that out, Mr. Obvious. Alaxzander scowled. You twit.
