Chapter 6- Brooke and the Angel Tear

The Estharian forces didn't seem too surprised at Obsidian's appearance. Naturally, a few tensed, grips tightning on guns, but they weren't exactly shitting their pants.

The one holding the megaphone swung an arm forward. At his gesture, about a dozen soldiers rushed forward. One from their numbers ran to the front, now only maybe a few dozen feet from Obsidian, and raised his arms to the skies. "Guardian Death!!" he shouted, just before Obsidian could rid of him.
It seemed to be some kind of spell. A piercing cry rang through the air, and Obsidian wavered unsteadily, seeming to loose balance. The eardrum-shattering sound brought them to their knees, to distracted with their own pain to notice the downfall of Tomoe's dark, angelic GF. Zacke clapped his hands over his ears, yelling in pain. Reese knelt down, bending his knees and gripping the top of his head until his fingers were white.

The soldier that had cast the strange spell fell to the ground with a thud, all life seeming to be gone from him.

The cry stopped immediately, Obsidian's form lain out over the concrete, serving as an example of what would become of any more summoned forces.

"Power in numbers, kids," the guy with the megaphone stated coldly. "Give yourselves up, the city of Esthar isn't about to lose to a handful of SeeD."

Jun slashed her way through to the door, glancing back at Gone.

"Come on, Gone! Let's get out of here!" She shouted at his direction.

Half of the team had already made their way outside the building. She swept her her gaze around, and spotted Blaze causing grevious amount of pain to the Estharian soldiers. She seemed to be "enjoying" herself.

"Blaze, killing the enemy is good but make it fast or we'll be swamped again." Jun called out, reaching for the door and stepped out without waiting for her reply.

Just then, she heard a strange noise, a piercing cry that was terribly cruel to her eardrums. Immediately, she covered her ears to prevent it from further damaging her hearing.

She was unprepared for the sight that awaited her outside.

A dark, angel-like form descended from the sky and fell to the ground, still. It looked like a GF to her.
A man fell down with a thud, and immediately the strange noise stopped.

Everywhere she looked, hordes of Estharian policemen were training their guns on the SeeDs.

"Power in numbers, kids," A guy with a megaphone stated coldly. "Give yourselves up, the city of Esthar isn't about to lose to a handful of SeeD."

Holy Macaroni... Jun made her sword disappear, and held her arms up in the air. No way I'm giving up my sword again.

She heard the door creak open.

She squeezed her eyes shut.
No! No! Don't come out!

"Come on, Gone! Let's get out of here!" Jun shouted at him.

“But, love, I’m just starting to have fun, as it is.” Gone complained as he killed another soldier. “It’s not fair that Blaze gets to kill more soldiers than me.”

Gone grumbled to himself, as he ploughed through the soldiers towards the door, a few moments after Jun exited. He opened the door and stepped out before looking. On the ground he saw a dead GF. It looked like a dark angel.

“I see dead GFs” Gone said blinking slowly to see if it would suddenly be alive when he opened his eyes. No such luck. Arianrhod, maybe you should just stay in my head for now. Eat some more memories if you need more room to get comfortable.

Gone looked about at all the police. Great, it’s the annual police picnic and we forgot to decline the invitation.

“Sorry, I’d much rather fight to the death and be remembered in tavern songs.” Gone muttered to Jun, who was standing to his side.

“DROP YOUR WEAPONS!” One of the police shouted at him and Jun.

“What!? You have got to be sh!tting me! I just got Vayu back, and now you want to take him away again? Have a little compassion.” Gone whined loudly, gripping Vayu tightly. Like a teddy bear.

Gaiea sliced and punched her way through the hordes of Estharian soldiers on the inside of the compound, trying to make room for their escape, but they just kept on coming. Blood and gore littered the linoleum floor and as the group made a run for it, she nearly slipped on a pool of extremely slick fluid. Making a face, she ran after them and started to creak open the door.

A piercing scream made her stop, and she dropped to her knees holding her ears.

/That was not...pleasant/

Gaiea peeked through the door and her jaw dropped. Policemen, cars, and guns everywhere, anda man with a megaphone telling them to drop their weapons.

/Well did you really expect to escape through the front door? Why didn't you go out the way the other group went in/

A good question, Ki. I imagine because none of us were thinking when our lives were in danger.

/And I thought you all were SeeD/

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, Gaiea thought primly.

“DROP YOUR WEAPONS!” A policeman shouted and Gaiea once again peeked through the door, her peripheral watching behind her so she wouldn't be snuck up on.

“What!? You have got to be sh!tting me! I just got Vayu back, and now you want to take him away again? Have a little compassion.” Gone whined in a loud voice, clutching his weapon to him.

I wonder how many of us they know about...if I don't go out, maybe I won't get caught...

"Blaze, killing the enemy is good but make it fast or we'll be swamped again." Jun called out. Blaze looked up from her freshly bleeding corpse and frowned.

"Oh, alright." She said in the middle of breaking the neck of a soldier. The splintering of bone was music to her ears. "Wolfe." She nodded for him to follow her merely so that he would have to stop the luxury of murder.

As she made her way to the exit, a loud scream made her clamp her hands to her ears and she saw Gaiea do the same.

“DROP YOUR WEAPONS!” She heard an echo from outside.

"Don't go outside, Gaiea, we can find another exit!" Blaze yelled above the whirring of helicopters outside.

"DROP YOUR WEAPONS" the officer yelled. Alaxia looked up "Oh shit" Alaxia looked the rest off the team. Wait people are missing, good we may get out of this. Alaxia put her guns her belt. "What do we do now people were trapped??" Alaxia said in a low voice.

Alaxzander's arm was bleeding heavily at this time. He looked up still managing to stay alive."What do we do now people were trapped??" Alaxia said in a low voice.

"Hey can we use Magic on them??"

The officer with the megaphone stepped forward a few steps. Estharian soldiers started forward also, toward various members of the SeeD team.

"Failure to cooperate will result in death." the officer said into the megaphone. The Estharian's started handcuffing the SeeDs. Those who struggled were immediately shocked with a taser. Eventually they were all loaded into the back of Estharian law enforcement cars, two to a car.
The ride was only maybe ten minutes long, the cars coming to a halt at a large building. They were unloaded and each led by two soldiers, inside the building and all into a large cell. The soldiers left silently.

The 'best of the best' now stood united, behind bars, none of them in posession of what they had come so far to get.

The second Blaze was zapped by a taser from behind, she slumped foward only to awaken a mere 10 minutes later locked inside of a jail cell.

"Ugh..." She groaned and stood up slowly as her sight became clearer. She saw familiar faces. Many familiar faces. The entire team was in the same cell as she.

"What the..." She began, staring around at the grey scenery. "WHERE THE FVCK ARE WE?!?!?" She whipped around and back again, confused as for who to blame. She concluded on blaming the person who had tasered her.
"HEY!!!!" She screamed and ran over to the side of the cell, gripping the bars until her knuckles turned white. "WHERE THE FUCK AM I!??! WHO THE FUCK TASERED ME GET YOUR FUCKING ASS OVER HERE RIGHT NOW AND FACE ME!!! GIMME BACK MY WEAPONS!!!" She banged the bars and rattled them.

"Get away from the bars." A uniformed soldier barked and hit the bars with a large metal bat where Blaze's fingers had been milliseconds before.

"You're not getting away with this you asshole!!! When I get out of here I'm hunting your ass down first!!!"

Stardust shot an annoyed look at Blaze as the hot-blooded SeeD started to scream at the guards like crazy. Standing near her, Stardust's wanted to knock her out cold again.

"You're not getting away with this you asshole!!! When I get out of here I'm hunting your ass down first!!!" Blaze threatened the guard.
"Just shut up, Blaze..." she said.

Stardust clutched the metal bar and looked back at the others. She couldn't believe this. They got caught. From here on, she didn't know what would become of them or this mission. She turned her gaze back to Blaze.

Waiting for the guard to go back to his post, she added, "Instead of screaming and your lame threats why don't you just do something to get us out of here. If you can't think of anything then shut up!"

You sicko... Stardust moved away from Blaze and made her way to the back.

Reese smirked when Stardust told Blaze to shutup. He was just about to do much the same thing, only she'd beat him to it.

Zacke groaned loudly. "This is just fucking great..." he said, stepping toward the bars. "Great!!" he gripped one in each hand and tapped his head against one. He suddenly wheeled around to face Reese. "If you guys wouldn't have made a big scene and fucked everything up, we would have had a chance at the Emerald! It's your fault the cops were even at the place!!"

Reese frowned. "Don't start accusing us because you failed. We were there, and we would have the gem now, only it wasn't there."

Zacke laughed. "Oh yeah fucking right, Laice wouldn't direct us to the wrong place! And we didn't fail, you guys are the ones that had to have your asses saved!" he shouted, looking around at various members of the group that went with Reese. "Without us, you'd be dead right now!!"

Stardust paused just as soon as she heard Zacke blame them for being caught. She turned to the blonde, her eyebrows coming together.

He's blaming us? she thought while Zacke rattled on.

"Don't start accusing us because you failed. We were there, and we would have the gem now, only it wasn't there." Reese stated.

"And who said we need your help?" Stardust barged in and stared angrily at Zacke. Striding up to his face, she continued, "Who do you think you are? All you can do is threat, blame and shout...yes, that's what you're good at, right?" She cocked him an eyebrow. "As always."

Stardust looked at his group. "You miserable lowlifes!"

Gaiea looked up from the corner, her arms folded, trying not to think about the pain in her lower back. Some soldier had hit her with the butt of his rifle in the kidney and it was hurting like a bitch. Her ears were beginning to hurt as well.

"And who said we need your help?" Stardust was on rampage now. "Who do you think you are? So you think you're some sort of superior SeeD and that you didn't fail? Don't talk trash like that when you yourself didn't accomplish anything at all! All you can do is threat, blame and shout...yes, that's what you're good at, right? As always." The pink-haired girl cast a look at them. "You miserable lowlifes!"

"I wouldn't be casting stones about blaming others, Stardust," Gaiea said mildly. "Have you ever taken responsibility for your mistakes? No." She continued before anyone could interrupt. "We all screwed up. We acted like cadets and we didn't think. And now SeeD's best of the best are in jail screaming at each other like children."

"So how about we take Stardust's suggestion," Gaiea shot her a sweet smile," and try and think of a way out." The redhead thought wistfully of her metal barrette that had her lockpicks under the top, but Kyou had used it to meld wires together in their quest for the Sapphire. She hadn't gotten it replaced yet.

There has to be someone here with that type of skill..., she thought, looking around. Her eyes fell on a small figure on the other side of the cell.

Tomoe...

"Well, even if we did get out of this cell, I don't see us just walking right out of the city." Zacke said. "Where the hell is this place anyway? We don't even know where we are..." Zacke looked up and around the cell. "And we don't know how long its going to be until they transport us to a larger prison, probably D-District--"

"Silence!" Reese hissed. Zacke looked at him, his expression a mixture of shock and anger. He started to reply when a woman's voice, echoed from down the hall.

"SeeD?! Where are they??" she asked someone, most likely one of the officers.

Zacke arched an eyebrow, glancing around at his teammates.

"In the cell down there but--" the man that replied was cut off.

"Well get them out!!" The girl screeched in a commanding tone. "Whatever the cost, just get them out of there!!"

"Okay! Okay!" the man retorted. He sighed loudly. And officer rounded the corner and started toward their cell, pull his keyring off a belt loop.

A woman followed close behind him, glaring at his back a few moments before peering into the cell, her gaze wandering around at the faces of the SeeDs trapped within. Curly chesnut hair fell in large ringlets around her shoulders, her eyes strinkingly bright blue. She wore a form-fitting, pink fleece minidress with white fluff around the collar, wrists, and the bottom of the skirt. A hot pink scarf wrapped around her neck, and she wore hot pink heels that matched. She looked to be about seventeen or eighteen.

The officer swung the cell door open, the metal creaking slightly. The girl placed her hands on her hips and stepped into the cell, glancing around at them each. "I'm sure you're all familiar with Ambassador Coroniere of Esthar. My name is Brooke Coroniere, his daughter. Rather rude the way you just waltzed into daddy's lab and stole the Angel Tear. And I've been gracious enough to bail you out, so I guess you can hand it over any second..."

"...My name is Brooke Coroniere, his daughter."
Tomoe opened her eyes and stirred lightly, turning her head to look in the direction of the voice. That voice--

"Wake up, kid." Wolfe's face appeared from nowhere. "You took a hell of a shock. And your GF didn't look too well either."

"What...? Sid...." Tomoe sat up, rubbing the back of her neck. She had taken plenty of shocks from all the Estharian soldiers she had struggled against, and then someone had clubbed her in the back of the head. "Son of a..."

"...And I've been gracious enough to bail you out, so I guess you can hand it over any second..."

Tomoe glanced up. "Brooke Coronier...?"

Stardust’s eyes landed on the modish young lady outside their cell. She looked like she was the same age as her and judging from the way she addressed the guards, it was evident that she was an important person.

"I'm sure you're all familiar with Ambassador Coroniere of Esthar. My name is Brooke Coroniere, his daughter. Rather rude the way you just waltzed into daddy's lab and stole the Angel Tear." Brooke introduced herself to them and added. "And I've been gracious enough to bail you out, so I guess you can hand it over any second..."

Angel Tear?

/Oh, the stone/ Diwata said. Stardust threw a quick glance at Reese then back to her again. An ambassador's daughter bailing SeeDs for busting into their lab and stealing her stone. She creased her forehead. That sounded questionable to her. If she was the ambassador's daughter then of course she had something to do with Adel too. And trusting someone like that was the very last thing Stardust would do. Could they trust her? She didn't know who to believe to anymore.

Stardust walked towards Brooke. Stopping a foot near the metal partition, her eyes narrowed. "So we give you the stone and you will bail us out." Her tone didn't sound convinced. "Just like that...you're letting us go?"
