Kyoui stared at his hands, mutely. If Gaiea was dead, it was all his fault. He was the one who pushed her out of Deathstrike. Maybe she didn't have Float and he just assumed she did. The impact on the water could have killed her. But probably not. If she wasn't showing up, something else must've happened.
He stood, eyes caught by the shower of sparks in the air. His eyes slid to Terry, who'd seen them too, and quickly he started for the edge of the Research Center. "It's got to be that Rika girl. The GF is heading for that island." But where's Gaiea? Quickly, Kyou recast Float on himself and carefully ran through the air. Maybe they're both there!
Why did he doubt that?

Thirty minutes?!? Terry turned towards Zacke incredulously. Quickly scribbling on yet another piece of paper. [You can't possibly give her only 30 minutes!!!]
Oh Terry was angry, but yes he knew also. They weren't coming out here for a picnic. This was for one of the jewels needed to stop Adel once and for all.
C'mon Gaiea... ya gotta be there... only other island out here and you couldn't be missing for so long... please be alright....
Terry calmed down a bit and sat there on the dirt. Try to collect his raging mind from all the drama that has occurred.
He then noticed Kyou float.
[Please hurry and get them back to us] Terry threw the paper infront of the fly-guy, a face of sternness and a little bit worry

Zacke turned around to face Terry.
"Well thirty minutes is all she should need! If she's not on this island, or the one Rika is one, she's obviously in the water. If she's in the water, it shouldn't take her more than thirty minutes to swim over to us, even if she is tired." he said. "And we can't spend all day camped out on the beach waiting for a dead woman to swim over to us. We do have a mission to complete."
But instead of taking it back, he just yelled more. "And where the hell is Blaze?!" he said to no one in particular. "Hyne, don't tell me she ran off to try and get it herself..." he muttered irritably.
He sat down on a large rock and stared at the sand.
How do I, or anyone else for that matter, fix this mess?!

Rika lay on her back on the beach, drained of all energy. She was wondering how the hell she was going to get back, and she looked around.
If I'm attacked here, then I better have a guardian angel somewhere up there...
She suddenly sat up and flipped over, so that she was facing the sand, and she coughed up more water. Her eyes watered, and she felt horrible. Looking at her ankle, she saw that it was all red. She hoped to Hyne that she wasn't poisoned. To take an extra precaution, she took a potion from her belt and quickly downed it.
Beginning to cough again, she looked around again, and saw... it couldn't be... Kyoui? With a Float spell it seemed.
"Kyoui!" she shouted, before coughing again.
She didn't need to tell him that what he had come searching for wasn't there. She merely looked up at him with a defeated expression.

Sym narrowed her eyes and scanned the surface of the water, looking for anything that was even remotely human. The girl had seen the signal from Rika earlier and now her attention was turned to finding Gaiea. She had to be alive, she had to be. . . no one was going to be lost on this mission, no matter how big of a bitch they were. That sentiment went double for Aly and Stardust.
Have you found anything? Her mind sent to the large dog swimming in the ocean, hoping that he had news. He wasn't tired, and Die-sha's dedication shone through in his reply.
/No sign yet, Lady, but there is still a great deal to search. Gaiea will be found, do not worry./ The mental voice was reassuring, and Sym hoped to Hyne that Die-sha was right.

Stop yelling stop yelling stop yelling-- Tomoe struggled to keep her composure. Blowing up like she did at Infinity earlier was a surefire way to a failed mission.
Taking a deep, calming breath, Tomoe assessed the situation. Walker's missing, so is Liani. The group's falling apart, largely due to Infinity, and Gokai's gone on a one-man rescue mission. Tomoe bit her lower lip. Hopefully...he'll be fine. That can be either Liani or Walker that sent the signals, lucky for Junctions... She suddenly blinked and cast a glance around the area.
Oh, Hyne, Blaze!
"Blaze isn't here," she suddenly said out loud. Oh jeez, what're the odds she snuck into the Research Center, a.k.a. Monster-Breeding Ground without us...? "She's in the goddamned*mned Center already..." Tomoe whirled around to face the looming Research Center, a feeling of dread gnawing at her. Blaze was the only person she knew in the entire group, the only one she could consider as something of a friend...Blaze was the only one Tomoe called by her first name--it was a sign of trust.
Tomoe sucked in a sharp breath. Friend in danger or no, she couldn't go into the Center alone. She was a stealth-operative and assassin, not a Bahamut and Eden-Junctioned god. But still...
Blaze, you'd better be alright in there!!

Stardust looked back at the ocean and saw a signal over a nearby isle. She assumed that it was either Gaiea or Rika. Somehow, it was a good thing. At least it wasn't another misfortune to worry about.
Behind her, Zacke was saying something. He said that if Gaiea didn't show up for about thirty minutes, she was considered out of the group.
She couldn't help but agree. There was no use brooding upon someone who was probably dead by now. Besides, after she got her rest, she wouldn't wait for that girl to show up either. Brushing her spiked pink hair, she headed back to her post.
"Thirty minutes...Too long if you ask me." she spat.
Just when she thought that everything was settled already, Tomoe's voice rang in her ears again. She was babbling about a girl named Blaze. Irritated, Stardust scowled at her.
Shut up!

Tomoe noticed Infinity's dark glare. Yeah, fuck you too, Infinity, she thought, answering the girl's scowl with a cold, calm gaze. She wouldn't let the other girl get on her nerves again. She had more discipline than that.
Ignoring Infinity, Tomoe decided to turn her attention to the wait for Gokai, Liani and Walker. She couldn't let herself be bothered by someone's bad mood right now.

Blaze clawed at her arms, the gunk wouldn't come off. She was still stuck waist deep in a pitch black atmosphere.
WHAT is taking them so long?
She wouldn't have come in here on her own if she'd known that the others would be out there so long. Blaze had thought that they'd find the others quickly and get into the center without hesitation. Instead, they seemed to be unproductively staring out at the ocean, she could see faint outlines of them through the crack of the door. Suddenly, she saw a flash of lightning outside. A clear indication that the 2 had not been found yet.
Those idiots, they're holding up the mission. We should just abandon them! They can catch up later
She sighed and realized she wasn't going anywhere soon. At least now she could warn her teammates that the place was covered in very sticky muck.

Kyou met Rika's gaze, saw the defeat, and sank to his knees beside her. "I killed her," he murmured, staring at the ground. "I killed Gaiea." He turned his red eyes to the girl beside him. "I KILLED HER!"
Furious, he hit the ground in front of him. "Why didn't I make sure she had Float?! Why didn't I cast it on her?! FUCK!"
He kneeled there for a moment longer, the ground blurry in front of his eyes. Then he got to his feet and blinked the emotion back. Expressionless, he held out a hand to the still seated Rika.
"Let's go."

I don't like this... I don't like any of this... the time is really straining right now... Terry sat there staring on the ground. It was quite disturbing thinking about any of the events that have happened so far.
Terry started making little pictures, faces, of people he once knew in the sand. Hell he knew this was childish, but it helped calm his nerves thinking about the family he once had, and lost. There smiles forever ingrained into his memory. Terry sat there waiting... He knew the challenges ahead of them. He knew that many might not make it back. He hated Adel with a silent curse. But he was here, like the rest of them and he had to concentrate on what was happening now... missing person or no.
He just hoped things would work out, but he knew the stack that was against them. Terry stood up quietly, softly. And started walking towards ocean, washing his dirt covered hands. He turned to Stardust and look straight at her... right into her eyes, and just stared. A calm and collected stare, holding nothing, no emotion... no challenge, nothing. He knew... yeah he did... things happened to her. Much like himself, only he chose a different path then her... they were much alike in ways.
Terry slowly looked into the black pit of the center. Terry thought Blaze was crazy. But he wasn't very surprised. He just hoped she didn't go too far in. One person could never stand up against the things down there. He wished luck to Gaiea, himself, Blaze, Rika, Kyou, Zacke, Alyeena, Col, Sym, and most of all to Stardust, not because she needed it, but he felt he need to wish it... he hopes they'll all be here in the end, and each, including himself... will find out what they were here for...

Rika felt horrible when she grasped Kyou's extended hand. It was eating away at her, the fact that she couldn't manage to save a member of her own party, even with the use of a Guardian Force... a mermaid guardian force at that!
She not only felt like a failure, but a disgrace. She dreaded going back to the Research Center; she imagined them looking down on her weakened, vulnerable form with contempt. Rika Liani was included on this mission as one of the best, and she couldn't carry out a damned rescue mission.
However, the other thing that weighed on her mind at that moment was Kyou's show of emotion. She doubted that it was the result of anything more than his own guilt for Gaiea's disappearance; the fact that she was there to witness it was something she figured she shouldn't place much importance on.
It seemed that they both felt somewhat the same at that moment. They both harbored incredible guilt, that no one else, possibly aside from Sym, could understand.
Rika couldn't think of anything to say to the man, but she merely adjusted her belts, and turned her head away so she could cough again.

Sym had heard the thirty minute warning from Zacke and, in her own stubborn way, chose to ignore it. Yeah, they needed teamwork not disobedience, but there were two peoples' lives on the line. Sym refused to leave them behind, even if she hardly knew them at all. They were SeeDs, team mates, allies who she hoped would do the same for her and there wasn't any way that she'd leave them behind. Her father hadn't left her behind, he'd given his life to save Sym from her witch of a mother, and that act had instilled a sense of honor apparently lost on the others, I'm bloody well not leaving them to be lost in the sea, even if it takes longer than half an hour. Die-sha, please come back, I have a feeling you'll need another pair of eyes out there.
The dog obeyed, appearing not five feet away from her on the sand, his still rent flanks dripping water on the ground. He knelt, and Sym climbed up to sit on his broad back, holding onto the spines there for safety. She nodded to his upturned face once, and they he made for the water with the relatively small woman scanning the expanse before her, "We'll be back when Gaiea's found, I refuse to leave anyone behind."

Blaze grunted. She knew that there was nothing anyone was doing to help the situation of the 2 lost teammates. She could picture the images in her head.
"let's stay here and wait! Let's do nothing productive and just wah "boohoo" at the idiots who are drowning" Blaze said sarcastically. The gunk was beginning to harden and was making her irritable. She would have done the entire mission herself if she could move.
She squinted into the darkness and saw something flutter.
that's not good
"HEY! HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO BE OUT THERE!?!" Blaze screamed, just to remind her teammates that she still existed.

Kyou refused to look at Rika, rather ashamed at his outburst. He'd never been one to check his temper, but it wasn't his temper that had appeared. Last thing he wanted anyone to see was his guilt.
She coughed and he placed the hand she wasn't holding onto on his hip. "Stupid, going off like that," he muttered. "Can you walk?" Not waiting for an answer, he stuck out the free hand and murmured,"Curaga," watching the blue lights twinkle around Rika's ankle.
"That should hold until we can get some real medical attention." Still grasping her hand, he cast Float on each of them and headed for the Research Center.
Why is it no one else seems to have Float?
