Tomoe took a silent step back as the strange woman who had spoken left the area. There were still flashlights about, but their beams of light failed to detect Tomoe, and she quietly drew Ambition from its sheath. She saw the beams of light land upon Blaze, Mercutio and Infinity, while another beam put Valentine and O'Donahue in full view. Gokai and Liani were nearby--Tomoe could feel them. Wildwish, on the other hand, was a true Ninja; he had retreated further into the shadows by the entrance when the strangers arrived.
Tomoe silently drew a breath. Obsidian?
/I can see them in the dark. They're all men. With big guns. No Red Dragon, though./ There was disappointment in the Gaff's voice.
Tomoe nodded, lowering her weapon. And ours?
/The two that just came are just a few feet away from you. The Ninja's behind you, to your left./
Well, that's nice... Tomoe sheathed her katana. She couldn't risk hurting any of her teammates. Obsidian might have had night-vision, but she certainly didn't.
She relaxed, her senses on high alert. She just had to wait for these intruders to make the first move...

Damn this isn't good.... they shouldn't be here.... who pacts that kind of fire power?
Terry remained hiding in the shadows, waiting for the perfect opportunity to jump out. It was just stupid to go out now, with all of them carrying guns right in the open.
I'll just have to wait awhile, we can't have everyone caught...
No way was Terry gonna be able to take out all of those men. But he won't let his friends down he knew that.
Slowly Terry reached into his pocket and took out HeartShot. He hated using his assassin dagger... but in this kind of situation he had no choice.

"Looks like your little trap worked, Mitch" one of the men said to another standing beside him. Snickers rolled through the crowd of men, as one of them lit up a cigarette.
"Of course it did, only SeeD would fall into something that dumb" the man named Mitch responds taking a long drag off the cigarette between his lips, the smoke curling up in front of his face.
Footsteps are heard from above again and then a woman's voice calls down.
"The choppers ready, let’s get the hell out of here with that gem" she calls to the men still gathered below. By the light of their flashlights they head up a rope ladder hanging down from the ceiling.
The loud noise of a helicopter sounds from the roof as they head up through the hole in the ceiling.
"Have a fun stay, SeeDs" Mitch says before flicking his cigarette into the sticky substance on the floor instantly igniting it with flames.

Zacke watched the fire spread across the goo in what seemed like the speed of light.
"Holy fuck!" he shouted, trying to step back, only to fall onto his ass.
The Research Center was going to be an oven in mere seconds. He tried to focus. Smoke was filling the room.
The helicopter was quite a distance now. He couldn't hear it anymore.
/Think Zacke. Calm yourself and think./ Iris' soothing voice filled his mind.
Damnit...before getting out of the goo we need to stop this fire, the smoke is going to kill us if the heat doesn't. Water. We need a water spell!
"Anyone have any water spells?!" he yelled.

Rika ran forward to the Research Center in time to see the short episode. The bright light of the flames that erupted from the tossed cigarette caused her pupils to dilate slightly. Zacke shouted for a water spell, and she couldn't help but smirk.
Now That's my specialty! she thought, as she ran forward, right up to the flames.
"Water!" she shouted, and the icy blue particles were conjured from her fingertips. She aimed the spell at the flames, dousing them. "Water!" she shouted once again, and cast another spell.
Rika could only thank Hyne that she had one hundred Water spells in her stock, because she was quickly going through them. She was starting to get angrier and angrier at their predicament, but she knew that dousing the flames was her first priority at the moment.

The flickering cigarette descended slowly for Stardust. Her purple blue eyes grew wide as it touched the sticky muck creating a path of flames that was about to envelope her.
Those strangers did have a point. Only a fool would fall for this kind of trap.
Watching the running flames, her chest ebbed.
Snap out of it! Are you giving up?!
“Holy fuck!” Zacke shouted behind, adding a glint of fear within her. It was just like in Peedsmelh. The sight of the burning village, the roasted smell of her friends being burned to death, and butchered one by one; it was all coming back to Stardust. The same fear she felt at that fateful day.
Stardust found herself unable to move. She stood there, staring helplessly at the dancing fire as it torched the room little by little.
The mission has just started! What are you thinking!? the voice inside of her shouted. Even though she kept acting tough, she couldn’t help but feel scared. The truth was, no matter how many times she said she’s strong, she still couldn’t overcome her trauma. She was still weak and she loathed herself for it.
/But didn’t you say killed your heart…?/ Diwata spoke. /Who are you fooling?/ The GF laughed.
Shut up! She closed her eyes, not wanting to see the fire that was threatening to swallow her.
/Or perhaps you need my assistance?/
I told you to shut up! What are you going to do? You’re useless!
/I can be useless if you want me to, you know that very well./ Stardust couldn’t speak. She didn’t know what to do.
“Aaaaah!” She brought her left hand in front of her after the rustling flames passed by and scorched a slight portion of it. She bit her lip, feeling the pang that was snapping her back to her senses.
I don’t need you… Clutching her injured hand, Stardust opened her eyes. She wouldn’t be afraid. Fear was only for the weaklings. And she refused to be one. She was different, now.
“Water!” She heard Rika’s voice followed by the icy particles that doused some of the blaze.
Seeing the girl's effort to put up the fire, she stretched forth both of her hands to cast Water.
“Water!” she said, ignoring the pain of her wounded hand. Though she only had a very few junctioned to her, she was sure that this was enough to help extinguish the fire.

Zacke watched Rika run up into the fire and cast Water like mad. He breathed a sigh of relief. Just in time. To his side Stardust joined Rika in fighting the fire.
He watched the goo sizzle a bubble when the water hit it. The flames were vanquished instantaneously, which was good, but what was even better was the water spells seemed to be melting away the goo too!
It would sink to the ground, still slimy and green, but more syrupy. That was their ticket to freedom!
"Hey, cast water on me!" he yelled at Stardust.
He coughed in the smoky air and closed his eyes, bracing himself.
This is going to hurt...but it's definitely worth freedom from this nasty shit. he thought.

The sound of a helicopter filled the air again.
A SeeD issue helicopter landed loudly on the beach, its blades glistening in the morning sun. It was only moments before a woman hopped out, flicking her long curly black hair over her shoulder. Drawing from her under coat she leisurely started to walk up to the Research Center.

Sym saw the smoke curling out of the Research center just before she landed on the beach, and the woman jumped off Die-sha's back and ran to the source as quickly as she could. Her allies were in there, trapped and burning. . . Damn, why didn't I get here sooner?! I should've at least been here to help!
/You still can, use your magic, Lady./ Die-sha whispered calmly in Sym's raging mind, and almost instantly her frantic mood left, replaced by a calm manner. /Help the mage, she's putting out the flames. Then the rest should be easy to do./
Right, got it! Sym acknowledged and ran to Rika. A haste spell would let her cast water faster, thus freeing the rest of the party sooner. Shouting 'haste' and tapping the spell caster on the shoulder, the quicksilver-haired girl slowed down and looked inside the building. No one seemed to be too hurt, except for Stardust, who's hand sported a nasty burn. A couple regens, one for Rika and one for Stardust, should do the trick.

Tomoe stepped back as the flames erupted. Mercutio was shouting something, but then Liani had come, and Water spells had been cast. Apparently Infinity was also helping--Tomoe could hear her shouting "Water!" over and over again. Then deUltim had arrived.
Tomoe watched as the water doused the flames, and also washed away the sticky substance covering Mercutio, Infinity and Blaze. Tomoe ran into the midst of the Water spells, slipping and sliding on the now-syrupy goo, and grabbing Blaze by the forearms. "Alright, out we go, Blaze," she said over the roaring of summoned water and the continuous shouting of spells. She managed to pull most of Blaze from the goo and turned her attention to Mercutio. "Mercutio!" she shouted, reaching for his hand. "Hey, come on!"

"Hey, cast water on me!" Stardust heard Zacke yell at her. She turned to him and creased her eyebrows.
"How impudent for someone who is asking for favor," she said. The flames were running like crazy and in only matter of time, she knew that this guy would be torched. The injured teenager smirked.
Looked like he ate his words, after all...
"Water!" Stardust aimed for Zacke's face as payback for all the insults she received from him. The icy water crawled all over his body, melting all the gooey substance into a slime green syrup.
After a few while, the fire was nearly put out, Sym and Tomoe entered the scene. The latter boldly dashed in the middle of the slimy stuff and pulled Blaze out. Then she called for Mercutio. Stardust rolled her eyes and continued casting her last few Water spells. Her hands throbbed but she ignored it. It would serve as her lesson for being such a weakling.

Fire engulfed the sticky green goo and raced toward the spot where Blaze was stuck.
"Water!" someone yelled. The clear liquid gushed over Blaze and drenched her just as the fire was about to reach her. The muck started receding and sliding off of Blaze as if it were afraid of the water. Blaze smiled in delight but still couldn't move. She was waist deep in the stuff.
Tomoe suddenly jumped right on top of the goo and started sliding toward Blaze as if she were ice skating. The water seemed to create a layer that you could walk on. Tomoe yanked her out of the muck with difficulty, the goo seemed reluctant to give Blaze up. "Alright, out we go, Blaze" Tomoe said.
"What took you so long?" roared Blaze over the commotion. Tomoe grinned and went to go assist Zacke. Blaze tried to stand, only to flail her arms around wildly and go sliding off in all directions. She smashed right into someone.
"sor..." Blaze saw Stardust's face. She looked outraged. Blaze stifled a laugh- she wasn't the least bit sorry that she had knocked stardust down.

This was hell that's for sure. Terry was able to put out the rapidly rushing fire that was engulfing the center. But he could only do so much without any water spells junctioned. As much as he hated to admit it, they, the best of the best, were caught off guard. Terry wanted to help but he had something else that was troubling him.
Something was out there. Another helicopter landed and it was Garden issued. And what looked to be another SeeD appeared.
Terry turned back to the others and noticed that they didn't really notice the arrival yet. Walking towards the woman Terry held out a piece of paper and his face was quite serious.
[Who are you?] it read, Terry face full of curiosity and question. Terry wasn't going to trust someone that just so happen to appear when they were in crisis, even if they did look like SeeDs.

"Get off of me, you numbskull!!" Stardust couldn't help but yell at Blaze's incredible sense of stupidity. Of all the things to bump in to, the furious girl wondered why did it has to be her?
This klutz looked like she was enjoying it...!
"Get out of here, already!!" She shoved Blaze and lifted herself up. Aside from the fact that she was soaking wet, she cast another water spell on her to wash off the slime in her shirt.
"How stupid...!" she muttered in her breath. It wouldn't take a while until she followed them outside.

Tomoe tried to brace herself and pull out Mercutio, but the water had turned the slime from sticky to slippery, and for all her coordination training, Tomoe could barely keep herself standing. She glanced over her shoulder just in time to see Blaze crash into Infinity, and start Infinity screaming again. Tomoe smirked at Infinity's anger.
However, her smirk dissolved into a gasp as her feet slid from beneath her. Tomoe fell sideways, her left arm slamming into the sticky-slippery muck-covered floor, sliding again and crashing right into Mercutio. Her head bashed against his and Tomoe saw stars for a moment.
"Oh, shit...! Sorry, Zacke--Mercutio..." Tomoe apologized, struggling dazedly to her feet.
