Auria~
Zacke was about to respond to Sym, when he heard the sound of a woman's voice echoing. Very faint, he couldn't understand what she said, but he could tell it wasn't a monster.
"Blaze!" he said out loud.
What do we do?! She could be in trouble...why else would she yell? But splitting up isn't the best idea...but still...
"Alright, we're not leaving Blaze in there alone anymore. I'm going up to the Research Center, and I'd like a few of you to come too. I hate to split up, but we're not going to lose another member of this team because we're too stubborn to let go of what's gone."
He glanced around. "Who's coming?"

Quis THE COPY CAT OF THE CENTURY~
Aly frowned. At Zacke's call, she straightened up and walked over to him, Princess Guard*coughRIPOFF* on her back, and Death Penalty(>_< why does that weapon name sound familiar?) in her hand.
"I'm ready, Zacke," she said, as Colum sprinted over.
"Me too," Colum said, unsheathing his deadly broadsword.

Leaning her head back on the brick, Stardust closed her eyes. She didn't know if it was just her, but she couldn't sit idly here any longer. She had her rest. That's it, time to go.
"I had enough of this!" Stardust held her knees and lifted herself up. She made up her mind. She wouldn't wait for the polyglot to show up. All the people here were useless and the only thing that would keep her mind back in focus was to bust inside. Exactly at that moment, she heard someone talking about Blaze once again.
"Who's coming?" said Zacke as he glanced around.
Stardust didn't care about the girl, Blaze. They could rescue that weakling all they want but she wouldn't be a part of it. After patting the dust off of her, she tightened the bandages in her arm.
"I don't care about your affairs..."
She looked boldly at the Deep Sea's sinister features.
"But I'm going inside!" With this, the tattooed girl began to head over the research center's entrance.

"Thanks," Rika mumbled, after Kyoui healed her ankle. She was thankful that someone came for her, but her incredible guilt still burned away at her mind. She felt that there was still something she should have, or could have, done.
I hope to Hyne that Die-Sha had more success than Tempest.
Rika couldn't look at Kyou; she felt rather awkward, which was something new to her. It struck her on a personal level as well; she knew they both weren't strangers to anger, and that they both weren't afraid to show it. But Rika was also aware of the fact that they both were not willing to display any emotion other than anger.
As they made their way back to the Research Center, she mentally cursed herself.
Damn you, Rika, you're a magic specialist, for Hyne's sake, and you didn't even have a simple Float spell stocked?!
The fact that she went out into a mission unprepared was weighing heavily on her mind, but the fact that she didn't have a certain spell stocked... she wanted to throw herself back into the ocean for such a careless and disgraceful act.

Blaze saw the others' shadows grow larger as they came closer to the entrance of the center. There were 4
Finally... But where are the rest of them? Don't tell me the ones coming think I need rescuing or something...
She saw someone push the door open. "Hey!" Blaze yelled, her voice muffled by the glob of muck sliding down her face, "Don't come any closer! DO NOT..... NO! STAY WHERE YOU ARE!"
They kept advancing and didn't seem to be listening to her. Blaze stopped yelling and wiped her face with her hands in an attempt to get the muck off. It wasn't her fault that they weren't listening to her warnings. She might even get a few laughs if they ended up in the situation she was in.

I wondered if they noticed me yet...?
Terry was in the entrance to the Deep Sea Research Center. He could see everyone and yet he knew they couldn't see him. Terry hid himself against the walls, vines, and the strange elongated plant thing growing near the middle of the entrance.
Terry will be staying back for now... watching them and showing the one's outside where he seen the one's that have entered. Already he made glowing patterns towards where he seen Zacke and the others. Now, he'll wait for the one's outside...

It had taken a few moments, but soon the two were within sight of where the Deathstrike went down. Sym could still see it's tip floating precariously above the waves, a sight that led her thoughts to ask 'What're we going to do AFTER the fight? How do we leave the island?'. They'd have to figure something out before that time, or else they might end up swimming home. Not exactly the best thing to be doing after members of the party had nearly drowned.
Do you think she's around here still? Or did something. . . Sym refused to think about that possibility. Hers was a rescue mission, not a search for a body. The lady would be found, then they'd get back to the island and hope the fun hadn't started without them. Yep, that's what'd happen, and damn anyone who tried to make it different.
/I see a shadow, but I am not sure that it's her. We will have to look./ Die-sha answered, trying to keep Sym's hopes up, and swam toward the shadow.

Tomoe silently drew a breath and released it, waiting just outside the Research Center as Mercutio, O'Donahue, Valentine and Infinity went inside to find Blaze. Gokai and Liani were coming, she could see them already, while deUltim and her Guardian Force were just spots in the deep blue water. Tomoe wasn't used to the waiting, and neither was her Guardian Force. They had never gone so long without a battle before.
/Boring,/ was the monotonous voice in Tomoe's mind, the voice of her Guardian Force like liquid--cool and smooth.
I know, I know...but we can't just disappear until everyone's back.
/Irresponsible./
I know they are, but that doesn't prevent the fact that they're part of the team.
/Honorable./
"Yeah, doing the honorable thing sucks, doesn't it?" Tomoe breathed, crossing her arms. "Don't worry, we'll wait for Liani, Gokai and deUltim, then we'll follow the others inside. We can't wait for Walker any longer."
/Worry?/
"Of course I'm worried. We've been doing nothing but argue and bicker and lose teammates this whole time, and we have a job to do. I'm not only worried, I'm beyond pissed off."
/I want to fight./
"Yeah, I know," Tomoe answered. I know. So do I.

Superior?
Stardust clenched her jaw.
Zacke had been pissing her off ever since the Deathstrike crashed. Hearing those remarks, she wanted to take that sorry mouth off of him right then and there. She didn't care who was better or not. She didn't come here to compete. She came here because she wanted to squish that cursed life away from Adel. She was incredibly annoyed by this mission due to the fact that she wanted to finish it as soon as possible. And these teammates of her kept holding her back.
Glaring at Zacke, she paused and watched him walk ahead of them.
Quit acting like you're so superior, you haven't done shit
Stardust couldn't let herself be disgrace like this, again. She couldn't hold her anger any longer.
You jerk, I'll show you...!
Entering the murky research center, she followed him quickly for a punch when a thick goo suddenly ran up to her boots.
What's this?!
"Oh...oh that's just wonderful..." She heard Zacke's voice in the darkness. Her eyes widened in surprise as she realized that she couldn't move her feet.
"Don't come any closer guys." Zacke called behind him. "There's sticky shit all over the floor."
"Damn you!!" the angry pink head shouted at wherever Zacke was. She was completely stuck. "You should've said that earlier!"

Tomoe heard Mercutio's voice carry outside from within the Research Center.
"Don't come any closer guys. There's sticky shit all over the floor."
A moment later--
"Damn you!! You should've said that earlier!"
Tomoe winced. My god, that woman should get a therapist. All that screaming is hurting my head...
/Banshee./ There was annoyance in Obsidian's thoughts.
"Yeah, she sounds like one," Tomoe said dryly. Dropping her arms to her sides, she turned her head in the direction of the Research Center's entrance. "But what was that Mercutio was saying about sticky stuff on the floor...?"
/A Red Dragon jacking off./
Tomoe's lips quirked into a slight smile. "Yeah, I bet." The smile faded. "We've been waiting for the others too long. I think it's time to go inside." She spared a glance towards the ocean before turning her back to it, and strode into the building. She stopped at the entrance, letting her eyes adjust to the darkness, before quietly saying, "You're pretty good at hiding, Wildwish. Almost didn't notice you." Her amber gaze shifted to her side.

"There's sticky shit all over the floor" She hear Zacke say.
"Damn you, you should have said that earlier!" Blaze dug her nails into her palms. She had hardly known that pink haired girl, and yet she was sick of her already.
"OF COURSE THERE'S STICKY CRAP ALL OVER THE FLOOR, I'VE BEEN TRYING TO WARN YOU IDIOTS AND NONE OF YOU LISTENED!" She screamed. Her teammates glanced around surprised as if her screaming came from the sky. Blaze realized that she blended in perfectly with the muck, there was no distinguishing her as a human.
"I'm your big black blob to your left." She said with a monotone voice. They looked at her and suppressed laughter. "haha but now I see that some of you are stuck also. Does anyone have an antidote or something with them?" Blaze asked.

Kyou's Float wore off just as he reached the Research Center and he dropped to the ground, crouched like a cat, his red eyes taking everything around him.
Tomoe and Terry were near the entrance, half-hidden by shadows, and Kyou started toward them. "Where are the others?" The shouts inside alerted him immediately and he rolled his eyes.
Carefully, he stopped barely an inch from a puddle of thick black goo and scanned the inside, his catlike eyesight coming in handy. They landed on Blaze and he smirked. Great look for her.
"Fuck the Antidote, too many of you are stuck. What about Esuna? Someone should have 100 of those and we can refine more later."

Auria~ "Damn you! You should have said that earlier!" Stardust screamed from right behind him.
He was half-turned around, ready to give the bitch a piece of his mind, when Blaze spoke up. Then Kyoui.
/Forget it. You and most of the team are in the middle of the Research Center, trapped in a massive puddle of green goo. It can wait, Zacke./ Iris' soft but firm voice echoed in his mind.
"I don't have any Esunas." Zacke said, after taking a deep breath. "And Kyoui, did you guys find--" he was cut off by a woman's voice.
"You must be the SeeD's sent to retrieve Suthieal's Sapphire, I assume." she said from somewhere above the rest. "Devon! They've arrived!" she shouted.
A flashlight flickered on. Then a few more. Guns clicked.
"Stay where you are." a man commanded.
"Devon, for Hyne's sake, is the chopper ready yet?!" the woman yelled. The sound of boots pounding on metal followed, indicating she had left the room.

The shadow, and about five others that were sighted after, turned out to be nothing, leaving Sym with a deep feeling of hopelessness. The two had combed the area near the downed craft half a dozen times, and had found naught but a few schools of fish. It was as though their target had vanished from the face of the earth, She has to be around here somewhere. Have we looked over there, to the right?
/I am sorry, Lady. We have looked everywhere, there is no way that she's nearby./ Die-sha's voice echoed in Sym's mind, saying the same thing she was thinking. They had looked everywhere, with no sign of Gaiea at all. . . maybe it would be better if they went back. . . /She will be fine, don't worry, but we would be more use to the rest of the group if we returned. They may need our help if they've gone in without us./
You're. . . right, of course. They'll need a Guardian as strong as you to make it through. Sym admitted, her heart heavy as they turned back to the research center. Gaiea could take care of herself, she was a SeeD after all. She didn't need Sym's help to get back.
Die-sha smiled and kept swimming, glad that he'd convinced his master to go back. Normally it would have taken him longer, but he supposed the water had made Sym glad to have an excuse to leave. /And they will surely need a mage such as you to get through, Lady./

Stardust placed her hands in the muck. She was hoping that maybe her Ciceronian could somehow get rid of the sticky thing that was beginning to harden in her boots. It looked odd to her, all right, but she believed that it was faster this way.
She was too caught up with what she was doing when she heard a woman spoke. Looking up, she shielded her eyes at the blinding light of the flashlights.
"What's happening here...?" she whispered, totally bewildered. Her eyebrows met suddenly at the sound of the clicking guns. Now something was definitely not right.
"Stay where you are." somebody said.
Clenching her fist, her Ciceronian dematerialized. Though it seemed impossible for her to move around, she wouldn't let her situation get in the way. One wrong move from these guys and she would take them all out, one or another.
