Reese turned when he heard the cries of a Snow Lion, and saw Gone and Jun running back to help that girl...what was her name? Alaxia?
Damnit. This is only slowing us down. Oh yes lets get all heroic and save the girl from the fierce Snow Lion. he thought, irritated. Then we can all have a chat over a ciggy and a cup of tea RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF SNOWLANDS..
He shifted his weight to his left foot and glanced at Stardust, the only other one that hadn't run off to help the girl. His gaze shifted back to the battle when he heard his name called.
“Hey, Reese, leader boy! Help would be hot right now! Or are you too scared of dying?” Gone shouted, swinging his halberd into the Snow Lion.
Reese's lip curved into a snarl. Well now I'm definitely not helping. he thought with disgust, letting go of the handle of Consequence and turning to Stardust.
"The Snow Lion is the girl's problem to deal with. Now Vacc and Kuroki have made it their problem, too. I do not intend to do the same. You can continue on with me, or go help them." he stated, then turned and began walking.

“Hey, Reese, leader boy! Help would be hot right now! Or are you too scared of dying?” Gone's voice made Stardust turn around and saw a snow lion towering over a girl whom she vaguely recognized. Jun was fighting alongside with him.
What a klutz! Stardust wrinkled her forehead and watched the girl as she stood before it with great frailty. It seemed that the girl tried to catch up with them but ending up enticing a snow lion. What perfect way to show charisma.
"The Snow Lion is the girl's problem to deal with. Now Vacc and Kuroki have made it their problem, too. I do not intend to do the same." She heard Reese say. Their problem. Truly, she didn't want it to be hers as well and helping them, especially that girl, would mean wasting time especially when the only one who could take them to the elevator would be going on ahead. "You can continue on with me, or go help them." Stardust followed Reese with her eyes as he turned and began walking again. Casting a final glance to the others, she lifted her hands to her chest and reached inside Reese's jacket.
"Hey Reese," she called and tossed him his flask at the second he glanced back. "Don't level me with those lowlifes," she said casually as she strode her way beside him. "How far is the elevator from here?"

Gone gave a long suffering sigh. So he was going to have to be a hero after all. Boy, it wouldn’t have killed Hyne to pay the heating bill for this area. He thought as he leapt once again at the snowlion. With a deceptively casual looking move, he stabbed his halberd into the beast eye. Then he enthusiastically twisted it until it reached the creatures brain. As the now dead body fell forward Gone managed to keep his balance, once it was down he jumped off, grinning.
“Well, love, this was fun.” He said to Jun, as he walked over the fallen girl, Jun had run off to save. He hauled her out of the snowdrift. “Well hello there, love. Let’s catch up with our ‘fearless leader’. Shall we?”
Gone didn’t wait for a reply instead he just started dragging both girls back up to Reese and the others.
“It was just a snowlion, Reese. They aren’t that scary.” He said as scoffingly as he could while grinning, “And you two,” He glared at the ex-instructor and the anti-social guy, “Could have helped. Oh, does being the mighty Ex-instructor make you exempt from doing some actual work? And you, I don’t know or care what your problem is, but you can’t complete this mission without us, so shape up, letting us get killed is just petty.”
Gone, having no sense whatsoever, walked over to Stardust and threw an arm around her shoulders, no one could ever accuse him of quitting. “Of course, I’m not mad at you. Wouldn’t want my future wife to get hurt.” He said charmingly and then reached out and flicked a stray snowflake off Stardust's nose.

“Don’t get blood on my jacket!” Gone shouted, and leapt in front of her, taking most of the blast.
“Hey, Reese, leader boy! Help would be hot right now! Or are you too scared of dying?” Gone shouted as he sliced at the beast with his halbert.
Jun dashed towards the right side of the Snow Lion, and made another slash to its body, while jumping away to make sure that the blood did not spray onto any part of the jacket.
He'll give me hell if I stain it. Fanatic.
Taking advantage of the momentary dazed-ness of the Snow Lion, a direct consequence of her slash, Gone leapt towards the beast and plunged his halbert into its eye, twisting with an enthusiastic expression on his face.
Jun imagined that she could hear the wet noises it was making inside the beast's skull cavity. An image of minced animal brain stewing in fermented juices came to her mind.
Ugh. She resisted the urge to retch.
The beast fell down dead, Gone jumping away as it did.
She took one peep at his halbert, and quickly looked away.
Yessssssssh!
“Well, love, this was fun.” He said to Jun, as he walked over to Alaxia and hauled her from the snow.
Jun let herself be dragged by him to the rest of their teammates, lecturing Dan and Xarin along the way.
As soon as he let go of them, Jun turned to Alaxia.
Sure, she had run off to help the girl fend off the Snow Lion, but that didn't mean she wasn't annoyed at her. And the freezing conditions did nothing but worsen her mood even more.
"Young lady, I do not appreciate having to walk through all that snow just because you couldn't keep up with us. Make sure this doesn't happen again, cos I'm not sure if anyone will be saving your a** the next time round." She stopped herself from further nagging, realising it was only a waste of time.
She turned on her heel, hurrying to catch up with the leader.
{You do know that it was Gone who killed the beast, not you.}
That did it.
"ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
In a moment of sheer frustration, she let out a yell, and plunged her Tien Nu into the snow.
"Just trying to keep warm." She grinned awkwardly, placing her sword back into its sheath.

"Don't level me with those lowlifes," Stardust said crisply as Reese caught the flask. His expression remained blank but inside he smiled. Now that's an attitude to have. he thought. She came up to walk beside him. "How far is this elevator?"
He opened his mouth to answer but was cut off by Gone, who had just approached, Jun and Alaxia in tow. “It was just a snowlion, Reese. They aren’t that scary.” Gone commented scoffingly. Reese stared ahead, putting one foot in front of the other, temper rising.
“And you two could have helped. Oh, does being the mighty Ex-instructor make you exempt from doing some actual work?" Reese rolled his eyes.
"And you, I don’t know or care what your problem is, but you can’t complete this mission without us, so shape up, letting us get killed is just petty.” Gone addressed Xarin.
That's it. He's opened that hole in his face one too many times.
Reese immediately halted and wheeled around to face Gone. "I believe you just got done telling me how it was 'only a snowlion' and 'not that scary'." he stated mockingly. "So apparently we weren't 'leaving you to die', were we?" he stated in the defense of himself, Xarin, and Stardust, and Daniel. "Or are you saying you couldn't have killed it yourself?"
He gestured to Alaxia. "She is not my responsibility. You are not my responsibility. I never once told you to go play the hero and rescue her from the fierce snowlion. You made it your problem. You got yourself involved." he said, his voice icy and hard. "So don't come back a get all huffy-puffy because we didn't feel like making it our problem, too."
His gaze wavered to Alaxia. "You--you're lucky we have one of those heroic types with us, because if it had not been for Vacc, you would have been left. I suggest you learn to keep up with the group, because if you pull another damsel-in-distress and slow us down, I can't say I'll have as much tolerance for it."
His gaze shifted to Stardust. "The elevator is at least seven miles from here." he looked around at them all. "I believe we've wasted enough time here. I'm fvcking cold."
He took a deep breath. "Walk." He turned and began walking.

As hard as she could, Stardust pushed Gone away from her and spat, "Get away from me!"
Just as then, Reese snapped at Gone in defense of Alaxia's rescue issue. A reason that she would have said as well. She shot an annoyed look at Alaxia, eyeing her from head to toe, as Reese scolded her. If she wanted to come with us that badly then why didn't she speak up in the first place? she thought. This lousy girl better not scew up again or I'll answer to her.
"The elevator is at least seven miles from here." Reese said to her, then to the others. "I believe we've wasted enough time here. I'm fvcking cold." He took a deep breath. "Walk." He turned and began walking.
Stardust watched Reese walk away again, feeling guilty about taking away his jacket. Before heading out to follow, she cast a cold glare at Gone's direction. "From now on..." Her Ciceronian materialized in her hands. "...keep your distance from me." She turned away and started for Reese, not caring if the others would follow or not.
/Seven miles...My, that's quite a walk alright./ Diwata sighed. /I hope this young leader of yours knows what he's doing. It seems to me that we're in the middle of nowhere here./
He knows. She felt the cold breeze caress her cheeks. Or he wouldn't stand here for nothing. So just shut your mouth and follow.

Gone managed to keep his feet as he was shoved harshly away. From now on..." Startdust said her Ciceronian materialized in her hands. "...keep your distance from me."
“Cha, fine, if that’s what you really want, love.” Gone said, waving his hands dismissively.

Gone laughed, in amusement. “You do know what a T-E-A-M is, right? It means you help us and we help you. When you’re in a jam don’t expect anyone to help you. I’ll just laugh and cheer whoever’s killing you on! Go monster! And you say you’re not a leader, and then you go on ordering us about. Yeesh, talk about inconsistent!”
As he followed after Reese, Gone promptly forgot about being mad and went back to catching snowflakes with his tongue.

/Ooh he can spell 'team!'/ Perish squeaked. For once, Reese shared his GF's childish enthusiasm.
"It means you help us and we help you. When you’re in a jam don’t expect anyone to help you." Gone continued. "I’ll just laugh and cheer whoever’s killing you on! Go monster! And you say you’re not a leader, and then you go on ordering us about. Yeesh, talk about inconsistent!”
Reese sighed exasperatedly and said, glancing over his shoulder. "Just shut the fvck up already!!" He gave a second glance, to reconfirm what he thought he saw.
Yes. He is catching snowflakes. With his tongue.
"What are you like five years old?!" he, turning around to face Gone. "You want me to stop giving orders, then stop acting like a damn child and get serious! This isn't a field trip Vacc this is a SeeD missio n!! And as for the little 'team' speech...guess what? I don't give a flying fvck! Here," Reese raised his middle finger. "tell it all about how a team works."

Oh ho ho... Jun raised an eyebrow at the exchange between him and Gone, especially at the raised middle finger.
Gone does act like a kid sometimes though... I'll give him that. She smothered a laugh, and went up to Gone, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Gone, maybe you should try to refrain from opening your mouth too much." She reached into her shorts pocket, and came out with a packet of rainbow-colored chocolates. She grabbed his hand, and poured a small pile into it. "That should keep you occupied." She grinned, popping one into her own mouth, "They say chocolates help to fight the cold."
Without waiting for his reply, she trudged faster to keep up with Reese and Stardust, knowing that her earlier scolding towards Alaxia would be hypocritical if she lagged behind the team.

Alaxia listened with interest as the team she had decided to go with began to fight amongst themselves. Why did I join these people again....?
Then they began to argue about the Snow Lion, and Alaxia's eyes narrowed. Jeez, "it's only a Snow Lion"! It was one pissed off Snow Lion, and I didn't need any help.....
/Of course you didn't./ Lamara's voice, smirking and sharp, echoed within Alaxia's mind.
Ugh.....shut up, Lamara.
Alaxia sighed, her breath coming out in a white plume, and began trudging after her group. She couldn't fall behind again. Being scolded by Alaxzander was bad enough. She didn't need these guys on her case, too.

Stardust’s eyes trailed from Reese to Gone as if waiting for the latter to show some reaction.

I swear, you never shut up...
The chilly air was whisking through them as they walked, howling like lamenting souls from the grave. Stardust thought she felt something soar above them. She looked up. There was nothing but the dark clouds. Ready to brush the fleeting thought away, she heard a sound of a wing flapping. Was the cold weather playing tricks on her? She tilted her head to the wind, waiting for it to repeat. Just as soon, it stopped—so did the wind—convening the place with dead silence.
I don’t like this, Stardust tightened her grip on Ciceronian. She had a feeling something was watching them. She addressed the small group.
“Did you hear something?” Stardust's voice sounded wary.

Jun clutched the leather jacket closer to herself as the chilly air attacked her face, her legs and other parts not covered by clothing. In particular, her face. If she didn't move it soon, she was afraid it might just crack apart in its state of freezing brittleness.
The howling wind was a disconcerting sound against her ear, adding on to the uneasiness she was harboring inside but did not dare to reveal, lest people thought she was...
{Afraid?} Her GF completed her thought for her.
What nonsense! I'm just cold, that's all.
There was a strange sound she couldn't quite identify... then it stopped. Even the wind had stopped its dreadful noise, the only sound around being the crunching of the group's feet against the snowy ground.
The tiny hairs at the back of her neck prickled. Cold sweat trickled down the both sides of her face.
Usually signs that danger was imminent
Jun reached behind her, grabbing hold of the hilt of Tien Nu and swept her gaze around for any sign of hostile activity.
“Did you hear something?” Stardust asked them warily.
Before Jun could answer her, a huge shadow fell over them.
She turned towards the source of the shadow.
What in Hyne's Friggin' Heaven is that?
She pulled her sword out of its sheath, staring at the huge creature that seemed to be made entirely of bones.
Its malevolent eyes stared back at their group. And it grinned,
That, is defnitely not a friendly smile.
It swiped at them with its massive claws.

Gone was about to shout something snappy at Reese when Jun grabbed his hand. He turned and looked at her funny. What was she up to? He immediately brightened and totally forgot about mouthing off to Reese as she poured some colourful chocolates into his hand.
"They say chocolates help to fight the cold." Jun said. He nodded and munched on the chocolates.
“Did you hear something?” Stardust asked warily. Gone ignored her, he was eating his chocolate. A shadow fell over them; Gone glanced up at the monster briefly before going back to his chocolate. Maybe if they ignored it, it would leave them alone. He dropped the last of his chocolates as he leapt out of the way of its claws. Then again maybe not.
“My chocolate!” Gone shouted, looking mournfully at the place where his chocolate had fallen. He couldn’t see them, and now was not the best time to look for them. By the time they finished wit h the monster, it would be more than fifteen seconds. He sighed.
“If you really want to fight. We can fight.” Gone said resignedly, and then leapt enthusiastically at the monster.

"Did you hear something?" Stardust said quietly.
Reese's gaze shifted around apprehensively. Only seconds later the huge, grotesquely bony creature Reese recognized as the Abadon flew up out of the cliff to the side of them and landed merely feet away, sending bits of snow flying up into the air to fall like a shower around them.
Nice to see you again, old friend. Reese thought sarcastically, the small pieces of ice falling down around him.
The mighty Abadon arched it's back, a screeching cry resounding out toward the pristine white sky. Out of the corner of his eye Reese saw Jun unsheath her sword, and he followed suit, taking from his side Consequence and move into a defensive stance.
/Summon meeee!!/ Perish whined.
You're not needed for this battle. I've got better ideas.
"This beast is a creature of Death itself!! Healing spells are an almost instant kill!!" he yelled at the top of his lungs. "Anyone with curative magic or medicines use it now!!"
