A gunshot was heard long before Stardust could reply.
"There they are!" hollered the soldiers. "Don't let them get away!"
"Shoot!" she said in her breath as another fire made its way to them, then another and another. Her heart started to beat wildly. They were being showered with bullets.
"Of course there is!" Stardust blurted out. The series of fires coming from the soldiers gave her a hard time concentrating on what to say or where to go. "Make a turn in any corner--the first one you see..!" Right now, Stardust felt like they were wild animals being hunted down by poachers. A feeling of a stray bullet piercing her defenseless back anytime crept into her. They need to duct somewhere.
"Just run faster and we'll get there!!" she announced. Her voice was competing with the loud gunfires Estharians soldiers were throwing at them. The tension was increasing and the growing chaos upon the wide hallway was getting worse.
And then it happened. Scampering away from the firing soldiers, a lone bullet hit the ground--an inch away from the side of her boots--made Stardust lose her balance. She tripped and came crashing down. Her palms slapped the floor, shielding her face while her left shoulder slammed onto the hard tiles.
/What are you doing?!/ Diwata exclaimed in panic. /You're going to be left behind. Get up!/
I-I am...
Stardust pressed her hands against the floor and shakily lifted her chest from the ground. A groan escaped from her as she felt pain pulsate on her left shoulder. She clutched her shoulder and bit her lip. She could hear the soldiers approaching towards her.
Tilting her head back behind her, her eyes widened. The Estharians soldiers were gaining in on them. Closer...closer.
/Hurry, get away!/
