Placing a hand on her waist, Stardust listened to Reese for a while then eyed the stairs. Again, he was right. He was always right. It made her uneasy.
"...I'd really rather not take the door unless we find it's the only we can take." Reese finished. Stardust didn't have barrette, hairpin or anything to open the door. And surely, she wasn't thinking of actually taking it, was she? Approaching the door was just the first thing that crossed her mind. Yes, that was probably it.
After scanning the stairs she spoke, "I..I didn't say we take the door." She stole a glance at Reese from beside her, then quickly brought her gaze back to the stairs. "I just said that it's locked," she tried to reason.
/Oh, please.../
"Anyway, the vent sounds good to me. The less detectable the better," Stardust muttered then looked at the others to hear what they were going to say.

Reese nodded and fought to keep the corner of his mouth from twitching. Do I detect a hint of...embarrassment? in Stardust's tone?
"Well then I suppose it'd be best for one of us to go up and check the roof out. Afterall, all of us clambering up the stairs would attract unnecessary attention. Lets see...Vlaho's why don't you go? Oh--wait--better be someone we can trust. Jun, would you mind checking the roof for any kind of entrance?"

They were troubling over the locked door at the bottom of the stairs, when Reese spoke out against it.
"Why don't we climb up onto the roof and look for a vent or something? I'd really rather not take the door unless we find it's the only we can take."
"I..I didn't say we take the door." Stardust said. "I just said that it's locked. Anyway, the vent sounds good to me. The less detectable the better," She muttered then looked at them for opinion.

Oh--wait--better be someone we can trust. Jun, would you mind checking the roof for any kind of entrance?"
Jun, struggling to keep a straight face at his remark, nodded silently, and started out for the stairs.
Limiting the sound of her steps to a minimum, she made her way up the stairs quickly, bending her body to a low position as she neared the roof to keep herself inconspicuous.
Stepping tentatively on the roof, she glanced around for a possible entrance.
At the far end, there was a chimney-type structure protruding slightly from the roof. She crept her way towards it. The top of the chimney reached midway to her chest, the opening large enough to accommodate a person.
An Air-vent Chimney? Looks like we can get in through this. She thought, peering into the the dark hole. She couldn't see what lay beyond it, and cobwebs covered its opening.
It probably leads to some ventilation tunnel, which is as good as we can get.
Stealthily, she made her way back to the stairs, creeping down in the similar manner she went up and approached her team mates.
"There's an air-vent chimney on the roof. Looks like it hasn't been used in a long time, so we probably can go in through it with a lesser chance of detection." She looked at them questioningly.
"What do you think?"

Gone wondered why they were bothering to look for another entrance on the roof when the one they planned on going in was so rusty and old that it looked like it hadn’t been opened in a year at least. Why would people guard an unused door? He shook his head, and watched as Jun went up to the roof to look for another secret back way in. How many would they need before sensitive, picky Reese was satisfied? He’d bet his life Zacke’s team was having more fun.

"What do you think?"
Gone perked up, that sounded like fun. “Is it like a slide? Can I go first? Can I?” He said in an exaggeratedly excited child’s voice. Just to annoy people.

“Did you see anything el—“ Stardust was cut off when Gone barged in and chirped, “Is it like a slide? Can I go first? Can I?”
She wrinkled her forehead at him. He was annoying.
“How wide is this air-vent chimney?” she asked Jun and pretended she didn’t hear anything. “As long as we can fit then I don’t have any problems.”

“Did you see anything el—“ Stardust was cut off when Gone barged in and chirped, “Is it like a slide? Can I go first? Can I?”
Jun rolled her eyes. "Gone, could you just clamp your mouth for a wee moment? Pretty please?" She adopted a fake kiddie accent and frowned at him.
“How wide is this air-vent chimney?” Stardust continued as if she didn’t hear anything. “As long as we can fit then I don’t have any problems.”
"I didn't see any other entrance... only the chimney. And It's wide enough to fit a heavy-set man, let alone us . The height is around here..." She paused, gesturing around her mid-chest "... but I don't think that would pose any problem for us."
She smirked.
"Unless anyone here is skirmish about going down a dust-coated chimney."

Reese grimaced slightly at Jun's mention of 'dust-coated'. He sighed loudly and grabbed Perish up from the ground, holding her close to his chest.
"Alright, let's take the vent chimney thing."
Soon everyone made it up the stairs and Jun lead them over to the mouth of the chimney.
Reese eyed it distastfully.

Gone followed the others onto the roof and looked at the chimney air vent. He walked over the air vent and stuck his head in it, ‘just to get a better look’. It was dirty and dusty but that was no real hardship. It didn’t look like it was too far down to the ventilation shafts which would run through the whole building most likely. It didn’t go straight down, which was a good thing since if it did; they would prolly break through the ceiling at the bottom. He pulled his head out, his crimson hair slightly dulled from some stray dust.
“Yup, just like a slide.” He said, then stuck his head back into the vent, to see which way would be best to slide down. Slowly a dust bunny detached from the top side of the vent and drifted lazily down in front of Gone. It landed on his nose, his nose started to twitch, and though he tried to stop it, he sneezed. His head jerked back and hit the top of the vent, causing him to lose balance and tumble head first into the vent.
“Whoohoo! This is fun!” He said in a muffled voice.
His ‘slide’ was no more than twenty-feet, before he landed at the bottom. He shook his head; he knelt and crawled away from the ‘entrance’. He was covered with dust and dirt, he was pretty sure he must have picked up all the dirt in the damned vent on his way down. He turned around and called up to the others.
“It not that far down. The vents are big enough to kneel in and turn around in.” He sneezed again as dust swirled about him as he tried ineffectually to brush the dust off himself. “I don’t think you have to worry about the dust.”
Evil dust bunnies, out to get me.
BANG!
“Ow!”

Auria~ "Stop making noise!!" Reese hissed angrily into the vent.
One by one they climbed through the hole and into the dusty ventilation shaft. After taking a left and crawling down the pipe for an estimated fifty to sixty feet Gone came to a grill. Looking through the holes he could see a brightly lit room with florescent pink linoleum. A man wearing a white lab coat passed under them, holding a small white pouch.

Stardust felt dingy after she slid down that dusty, poor excuse for a chimney. She followed along with the others, crawling and turning in some corners as the person in front of her stopped. It seemed that Gone--who was momentarily in front of them--came to a stop. Stardust brought her head parallel to the thin metal wall of the shaft trying to look for him.
“What happened? Do you see something...?” she asked, suppressing her tone, from her post.

Gone came to a grate, a light was shining through it. He looked down into the grate, grimacing at the florescent pink linoleum. A man in a lab coat passed under the grate. He was holding a small white pouch. Gone cocked his head to the side as he looked at the man and his pouch. Perhaps a transfer of the ownership rights was in order.
“What happened? Do you see something...?” Stardust called quietly up to him.
He waved off her question, as he quietly moved the grate, he tensed as it made a small noise but the scientist took no notice of it. Once the grate was removed he lowered himself into the room, and crept silently towards to the scientist. He stopped to pick up a paperweight. Once he reached the scientist he tapped his head with the paperweight to knock him out. He caught the scientist as he crumbled, and laid him on the floor. Then he picked up the pouch before calling up the grate.
“Someone get down here and watch the door. When the good scientist wakes we can question him or kill him or whatever.” He said, untying the laces on the pouch.

Auria~
Reese lowered himself down through the hole, the last to exit the ventilation shaft. Gone was extracting magic stones from the pouch. Aura...Meteor...standard magic, it seemed.
Reese's gaze wandered to the limp form of the scientist. He glanced back at the door before walking over and kneeling. The was a pulse. He stood and pulled Consequence from it's sheath, then pulled the tip across the scientist's throat, killing the man. He dragged the end across the carpet and sheathed his gunblade. "We don't need to leave a trail of witnesses." he explained calmly, quietly, looking none of them in the eye.

Stardust watched Reese hide the scientist's corpse, face looking blank. She couldn't care less about the lives of those who worked for Adel. It was just what they deserved. However, if ever it was a civilian then it was a different story. And she definitely knew Reese wouldn't do that. He wasn't that kind of person.
Her eyes hovered around the area. Advanced microscopes, burrettes, goggle stands and other laboratory equipment were neatly piled in the area. Unfortunately, she couldn't see any sign of the emerald.
"I don't think the emerald is in this room," she said after a while, still scanning the area.

"I'm with Stardust on this I don't think its here ether." Alaxia looked at her team "Why don't we search the place and see what Information we ca get, So we can be ahead of the game?"
/Why don't you just shut up/
Why should I
/Because your making me mad/
"Oh Lamara Shut up" Alaxia said quietly

Gone’s ear twitched as he threw a few of the magic stones and what not at his teammates.
"Oh, Lamara, shut up." Alaxia said quietly.
Gone sighed. Was that all the girl was capable of saying. Shut up Lamara this, shut up Lamara that! Who was Lamara?!
“Listen, love, will just quit telling Lamara to shut up. No one here is named Lamara, no one cares about Lamara. Maybe instead of telling Lamara to shut up all the time you can try helping us on our mission. It wouldn’t be that difficult. Even I can do it, and I’m an idiot in the world according to Reese… and Stardust… and Jun… and whatever!” He said trailing off and muttering incoherently about how one day he would show all of them that he wasn’t just some dunce.
He turned away from the girl and addressed the others.. “Anyway, maybe if someone knows something about computers, we can try and figure out where the Emerald is before we go looking for it. Since we can’t ask the scientist anymore. Reese were you afraid he would recognise you or something?”
Gone looked about the room and noticed that the stray cat was still following them. He shook his head, the poor thing would prolly get hurt sticking around them. He made a mental note to keep an eye out, so the little kitten wouldn’t get hurt.
